The night had been draining, both physically and emotionally; Anna wasn't sure what to expect as she woke up to the daylight. All she knew was that the original house had seemed.... well, as normal as it ever was, when she had looked through it. She took a deep, steadying breath as she walked into the new house, looking around. The ballroom looked fine.... It didn't even look like there had been any chaos here so recently, when she knew far better than that. It was always that way ( ... )

Stella's eyes shot up as she heard the sound of approaching footsteps, for the moment half expecting to find that it was Vaclav approaching her with the intention of extracting information that she simply didn't have, but it was not Vaclav or a member of the Crusand at all - a woman, probably in her late forties. A resident of the house, perhaps? Stella moved the pearls from her lap to the floor before she pushed herself up, keeping the aquamarine in one hand, recalling them being popular on the Legacy because of the popular belief that an aquamarine would ensure a safe voyage at and a return from the sea ( ... )

Koizumi had made it a habit to take a short walk around the house every morning, just to take note of any changes. There were remarkably few today. Maybe something had kept the data interfaces busy yesterday. In any case, all the bodies were still there; it was curious. Before, Koizumi hadn't been sure what the bodies were from. He thought that maybe the second house had started its course at the same time, and had just had a rougher time of it so all the residents died sooner. Maybe each of the islands he had seen had houses that were all running this experiment at the same time, and would gradually coalesce into one mansion? But if it were like their house, then he didn't understand why the bodies hung around instead of disappearing or being eaten by the dogs. Or why they had become monsters at night. Maybe if the house went through cycles, this was remnants of the last cycle. But then why were there only remnants in this house, and not the old one ( ... )

The young lady stood, still dripping; Anna offered her a small smile, pen scratching away at the paper. She really wished it didn't take so long to say anything like this.... but being able to write was better than being completely mute, now wasn't it? Shame she didn't know sign language..... but then again, she doubted many other people here would know it, even if she did. Koizumi too was offered a nod and smile in greeting as she saw him come in, but one thing at a time; she would offer this woman what explanation she could before offering any greetings.

'You're in a haunted house on an island floating above an ocean, in some world nobody here knows about. Everybody here found themselves here suddenly by accident.' She wanted to be as succinct as possible, for the moment.... She looked at the couple as well, expression saddening for a moment. 'This place used to be a separate house from the one you probably woke up in; the couple must have lived here, and committed suicide because of the monsters and ghosts.' There was no other ( ... )

Stella offered a slight smile of her own in return. She briefly looked up to offer Koizumi a slight wave, but otherwise was distracted by the movement of the pen as the older woman wrote. She didn't intend to be rude, but for the moment her primary concern was trying to determine just where she was and the couple that had drowned themselves. The answer she was given was...unexpected, to say the least. A haunted house on a floating island? In spite of her prior experiences with strange occurrences, including slipping into a three year coma that lead to her mind merging with the Legacy, the idea was hard to wrap her head around ( ... )
