Mio rarely had the opportunity to play in the snow. The other "day" had been her first real opportunity in several years - it was simply something that wasn't done, not since that day. Not since that day Mayu fell off the cliff. Her sister was always slower than she was, even more with her limp. It was something that led to her being in pain and often and the cold only worsened that. Hardly a suitable parter for demon tag or snowball fights or anything that children normally did. She'd never been very interested, anyway. There had always been more important things to attend to...
But maybe before that day she'd enjoyed those things with her sister and sometimes even Kei as well and...for some reason, she wanted to do those things with Zetsu now. Even if they couldn't really go outside there was the greenhouse, covered in snow and devoid of monsters. Even if this wasn't the time and place and she knew she should have been focusing on more important things, she...really just wanted to do this. She wanted to do something different, separate from the monsters and ghosts and death and the house and the concern about his blackening leaves, something that was...well, normal, more lighthearted.
That was probably why she'd finally decided to make use of the fur coat she'd taken from the closet in the entrance room the other day, pulling Zetsu along without quite explaining herself even as she grabbed things that she remembered using before - a handful of buttons from the sewing kit she'd taken from the linen closet before, a couple carrots...a top hat or scarf would have been nice, too, but they weren't necessary. It took her a few minutes to actually decide to pop the question, only doing so after she'd found a suitable place in the greenhouse. "Um...Zetsu...?"
She felt a little embarrassed, asking this of him, even more because she hadn't asked before now. The way she was blushing and her eyes dropped to the snow-covered ground was probably a sure indicator of how she was feeling, to. She really should have asked before, but...well, he...he surely wouldn't object to staying with her for this endeavor, even if he didn't want to participate, right? She unconsciously reached for her camera, in spite of the fact that it had been left behind to eliminate the risk of it being damaged by the snow. She hoped he wouldn't mind what she was going to ask of him...
