Zetsu was sitting with his back against the greenhouse, coat hanging half-open on him so his leaves could spread as wide as possible to soak up the sun; he was swathed in quite a fair amount of bandages, relatively fresh ones at that. He had been dozing for a little while, eyes closed and head resting against the inside of one leaf as he slipped in and out of consciousness.... A nearby voice woke him up though, and he lifted his head, blinking blearily to see what the interruption was.

Hazy eyes first locked onto a pair of jean-clad legs at eye-level, slowly moving up to take in the rest of the woman. It took a moment to realize who she was, but the reaction was immediate once he did figure it out; after the beatdown he had received at her hands last night, he had no desire to be anywhere near the woman. Not after she'd damn well nearly killed him. If Lorenzo hadn't been there ( ... )

She'd had no idea if he'd seen her, but she assumed he didn't. After all, he hadn't said anything. So Anita quickly but quietly began to walk away from the ninja, hoping to avoid another showdown.

And yet...the man lived after several rounds of Hornandys. Such a threat couldn't be taken lightly. Therefore, Anita's next decision wasn't formed from anything resembling honor. When it came to survival, there was no such thing as honor; it only existed in lame Asian-themed movies to give the hero and the villain a chance for an epic showdown. No, her decision was based out of self-preservation.

After all, now that she had nearly shot him to death, Zetsu probably would have taken any reason as an excuse to kill her.

Sighing, the brunette walked over to the ninja. She placed her hand on the Firestar, but kept it in its holster for the time being. "Hey," she said, gesturing towards Zetsu with her foot. "About last night...you know I had no choice, right?"

The growl deepened as Anita approached; several long moments of staring, however, proved that she had nothing dangerous ready for immediate use. A hand on one gun, yes, but that would have to be drawn, aimed, and possibly have that one switch flicked before the trigger could be pulled; he thought he might be able to scrape together the chakra to meld out of danger, if not before she fired, then at least as it was taking place. That was probably the only reason he didn't make an (awkward and slow, most likely, given his state of disrepair) attempt to leave himself.

As it was, he fell back into uneasy silence, debating on how bad his condition was versus how good she might taste; he knew he wasn't in any condition to fight, but damn if it wasn't tempting to latch onto her ankle right now. "You damn near always have a choice." He retorted sourly. "Non-lethal force versus trying to kill me, for example. Taking out a man's legs leaves him not much more dangerous than if he's unconscious, if he doesn't have a gun or something." He scowled ( ... )
