Setting: Red Bedroom
Time: Night ):
Summary: Mion is unfortunate enough to arrive in the evening, and searches for a safe haven.
Warnings: Creepiness, idk. AND LOL, INTRO POST = SUPER LONG OMG SRY. D;

( She'd been riding her bicycle to the toy shop she worked in, when her front tire popped and sent her flying over the handlebars. )

"Eh?" The additional voice caused the girl to lift her head and slowly push herself to her feet. So there were other people in this large place after all! That alone was enough to help begin lifting her spirits ( ... )

Through the tiny slit in the door, very little was visible at first; sound continued to be more reliable against the evening shadows darkening the hallways. A red figure darted past suddenly, and the sound of his blade whistled gently once again, like a reed in the wind, as he came dashing towards one of the hulking brutes and offered it a vicious slash straight across its chest.

It fell suddenly, collapsing with a dull thud, but three more of its kind were standing by. With an eerie quiet, they lumbed towards Mion's would-be rescuer, their gangly arms ominously dragging along the floor.

Zero, staring them down sternly, stood still for a moment to regain his composure. These things were incredibly strong and resilient; Zero could normally cleave his sword through solid titanium alloys, but these creatures with their dark, mottled flesh managed to withstand his attacks. It had taken him the entire time just to defeat one! However, they were slow and dim, thankfully unable to land more than a grazing blow against him ( ... )

It was certainly a sight to see. Or hear, rather, as Mion couldn't say she'd been gifted with the power of night-vision. She pulled the door open just a little bit wider when the first creature fell, but when the glow of a mysterious blade seemed to become stronger, she realized that there must have been more of these things waiting in the shadows. And there were plenty of shadows for them to hide in.

And as her composure quickly returned, so did her confidence, and the memory that she always carried a gun on her.

Good going, Mion, she thought to herself as her right hand reached for the gun in its holster, slung casually over her left shoulder. The only problem was that she couldn't see very clearly, and she couldn't afford to accidentally hit the man who was trying to help her ( ... )

Zero's head sharply turned towards the source of the shot; the last thing he needed was something shooting at him, and had they missed, Zero was immediately turning the reactionary gears in his mind to react in kind: to attack ( ... )

A sharp inhale could be heard from where Mion stood, and she took a quick step forward; the last creature standing had taken the two by surprise and she didn't even have time to warn Zero about the impending doom before those bulky arms came down. Averting her gaze, the girl didn't catch sight of the shield until she looked up once more, not having heard the sickening crack of bones being broken ( ... )

After several more of the titanic blows from the beast, Zero had been brought down to his knees, holding the shield above his head to keep the rolling wave of attacks from crushing him. His frame was jarred terribly by each one, and he seemed to be sinking further and further down. All he needed was a moment, not even a full second, to be able to make his move in retaliation ( ... )
