Alexander had been lucky. Or rather, better at running than he thought. The damn ghost-thing had just been downright creepy and after seeing what it could do Alex hadn't been stupid enough to stick around. Not to say he had fled like a coward, nothing of the sort! He had just...made a tactical retreat, an advance in the opposite direction, whatever. He had made it through the unusually long night to see the light of day and get back to his original goal and that was all that mattered.
His goal was finding his rival that he knew was here and doing so was a whole lot more easier now that there weren't any weird-ass monsters on his heels. It definitely didn't take him long to spot Zetta this time at least.
But just as he was about to yell accusations and maybe even tackle Zetta down, he noticed something. Something that was off and he quickly duck back out of view to take a better look at his arch nemesis. He looked...down. Almost depressed even. Suddenly Alex found it very doubtful that it had been Zetta who had stranded him here.
( ... )
Mio herself hadn't been alive at the end of the night to be targeted by the shadow man from the previous night or how what it'd done to Zetta, but he she'd definitely had a very...different target in mind when she threw the snowball of her own, namely being one Zetsu. She'd already hit the poor plant man with one snowball and had meant to aim another at him, but...unfortunately it went a bit awry and ended up instead going in Zetta's direction instead. Truth be told, she hadn't noticed the Overlord's presence, too caught up in the thick layer of snow on that now covered the ground
( ... )
Quite frankly, Zetsu had never played in snow in his life. He knew what it was, certainly. He'd traveled in it, had tracked people in it, had learned how to move over it without leaving tracks or disturbing a single flake. He had cursed how damned cold it was before, and had admired it, too.... but never had he actually played in the stuff. The thought had never crossed his mind, and by the time he had first seen it, he was too old to consider that sort of thing, anyway
( ... )
Lost in thought, Zetta didn't see the snowballs hurtling his way. The first struck him in the shoulder, and the second in the side.
"Who did that?!" he snapped, glaring around as he wiped the snow off of him. Whoever did definitely had some nerve to throw them at him of all people.
He first noticed Mio and Zetsu nearby and frowned. Zetsu looked too confused to be the culprit, but Mio... Mio definitely looked guilty. She had to have thrown at least one of them. The Overlord crossed his arms, unamused, and looked about ready to ask her just what in the world he was thinking when he remembered that there had been another snowball, from a different direction.
It didn't take long for Zetta to figure out who had thrown that one.
"Alex..." he muttered to himself, sensing the God of Destruction's presence nearby. "I know it's you. Get out here, Asshat."
That was something good, at least. He had been hoping for something to beat the ever-loving crap out of.
Alex himself was rather surprised at the sudden appearance of a second snowball. It was quite amusing that both had hit Zetta, proving that the other Overlord was really out of it, though he had to wonder who else had thrown one. It took a little bit of careful shifting but eventually he managed to see who it was. A human girl. She must either be very brave or very stupid...
Well, whatever. At Zetta's words Alex revealed himself, neatly stepping away from his hiding place to confront the Overlord. With one hand on his hip, he tossed up another snowball he had made while coming out of hiding and caught it again with his other. Obviously brimming with overconfidence.
"Here I thought you were the one responsible for this mess but seeing you look all pathetic like this, I guess I overestimated you!"
