Mewtwo had investigated the other parts of the house again, pathologically driven to scour the nooks and crannies of the house repeatedly for newer clues or undiscovered chances for escape--rationally, he knew there was little chance... no chance of such an opportunity, but he was compelled to go over the details again and again and again repetitively, frustrated and confined, slowly building up his rage and turning endlessly in circles. If he'd known the word for it, it was a bit like going stir-crazy, only compounded by his deep loathing of being controlled or restrained in any way--the only restraint Mewtwo would accept was his own ( ... )

Raistlin hid his surprise rather well, he thought. He didn't instantly attack, didn't stumble backwards in fear, and he most certainly -did- call to mind the words to his most potent combat spells. He did not, however, use them.

The creature before him was entirely unlike anything he had ever seen; it was taller than Caramon, though much slimmer, and its overall structure bore a distinctive feline cast. It was also, as nearly as he could tell, completely devoid of both hair and mouth. And the final, most definitive characteristic? It didn't react at all to his cursed eyes.

When it spoke directly into his mind, Raistlin reflexively raised what amounted to his mental shields, narrowing his eyes in the process. "Nor have I seen your kind before," he said, his tone guarded.

Mewtwo narrowed his eyes, pressing against Raistlin's mind reflexively and feeling... defences? He didn't know. Getting a closer look at this entity, Mewtwo could see it was definitely human in terms of general topography, but... with bizarre, metallically golden skin and remarkable... strange eyes. Peculiar...

[That was not what I meant.] he told Raistlin--not quite imperiously, but with a hint of blatant declaration. [Although that is in fact accurate.] Had this... thing just... slipped into the house, as it were? Mewtwo decided he would endeavour to find out more--as much as possible, within his admittedly truncated powers--he would not, of course, enact harm (unless it attacked him or turned out to be something else, somehow related to the house itself), just... interrogate it.

[I take it then that you have just arrived?]

Whatever this thing was, it wasn't magical. Not in the same way anything on Krynn was, at least. And yet, it could float - levitate, rather - and speak into his mind, with no apparent means of doing so.

And there was still the fact that it wasn't aging. Though, in its defense, at least it didn't have the dual nature of that accursed rogue red-robe.

"Am I to understand, then, that I am unique in your experience?" he asked, probing with his own questions even as the strangely anthropomorphic feline was making its own attempts at figuring him out.

Allowing that it was only fair to answer a question asked of him when he had also asked one himself, Raistlin nodded, though he never broke eye contact. "I have been here for what feels like several hours, though it does not seem as if the sun has changed position in that time."

[It will not.] Mewtwo informed him curtly, eyeing Raistlin again. Entity was best word for what stood before him, as Mewtwo could assume neither human nor Pokémon nor other for this creature he was conversing with so plainly. It spoke in words, a human language, not a Pokémon one, however, that meant nothing, and he had no evidence to lead him in any direction, human or otherwise.

[Do not worry yourself about the time here--its mechanics are beyond your understanding and of little relevance to the trick of your survival.] After the night before, Mewtwo had no doubt that whatever this was, it would have no less trouble than Zetsu, certainly, at the very least, in enduring the house. [Although I will admit that you are certainly unique in my understanding... what are you?] It was not a question that would be denied. Pokémon, human, or other, he must know. Only then would he proceed.
