Namine edged into the kitchen a little bit after Rayne, glancing around curiously to see if they were the only one there.

"Is there anything specific you wanted for breakfast? Mine won't take long to make. I think I remember how to make pancakes... Maybe scrambled eggs."

Namine had been about to say she'd be fine with cereal (it was basically what she'd been living off of for quite a while) but the mention of other things, things that didn't get soggy and actually had protein, she stopped. "Well.... If... you don't mind, maybe some scrambled eggs, please...?" Had she had any less restraint, she probably would have been yelling, 'yes, please!' at the top of her lungs.

"I can't promise they won't be burnt. It might take a few tries, but I'll make sure you get some form of egg for breakfast." Rayne promised with a small smile towards the blonde as she filled a large measuring cup with water. Carefully moving towards the coffee pot and even more carefully pouring the water into the reservoir on the back, the dhampir set the measuring cup aside. "As long as you don't mind waiting for me to get it right."

Namine couldn't help but smile back, her eyes even warmer than they would have been at the idea of food, real food, and the comfort of a rare smile from her roommate. For actual protein? She'd wait til the sun went down, and in this place, that was quite a feat. "Take as long as you need." she said, a tiny laugh escaping her mouth.

Glancing around, she realized that she'd need somewhere to sit down. Eating cereal without a flat surface was one thing, but eggs were easier to eat with a knife as well as a fork. She could just stand at the counter, she mused, but if she was going to be waiting for a while, then maybe it would be nice to find a chair. But the only chairs she saw were in the dining room, and her time in Dollsy at night had made it so she didn't want to be that far from Rayne.... So maybe she'd borrow one ( ... )

Setting a coffee mug next to the coffee pot before moving back and forth from the fridge to the stove, Rayne had eggs, milk, and what cooking utensils she remembered being used the last time she had seen someone doing this waiting by the stove as she searched for a frying pan in one of the lower cabinets. At this point, the smell of fresh brewed coffee would have been wafting throughout the kitchen... if coffee had been in the coffee maker. As such, it was only the metallic and iron like smell of warm, hot blood that filled the room, something that Rayne realized that Namine may not like, even if it made her stomach growl. However, it was not the worst smelling thing in the world, even to humans. Rayne hoped Namine wouldn't mind it, too much ( ... )

Namine wrinkled her nose at the smell when it appeared, a bit confused. It wasn't absolutely horrible, but it was eerily familiar, and enough to distract her. But where was...? She glanced towards the coffee maker.

...Oh.

Paling slightly, she turned her head quickly. Better not to think about--

"I hate to make you get up after you've just drug that chair in here, but would you mind pouring me a cup of that?"

...Oh, no.

"...Y...yeah...! S-sure...." Namine swallowed a little, eyeing the coffee maker as though the contents would congeal into a jelly monster and attempt to eat her -- and in this place, they just might. Regardless of how her stomach squirmed, she would do it -- it wasn't such a high price to pay to show a little appreciation for her roommate. Still, it was with shaking, slightly pale hands that she poured the... er... contents into a cup that she'd fished out of a cupboard, trying very, very hard not to spill anything ( ... )
