Machi spent the time he used searching for an exit to think about things a little better. He didn't really like what he came up with ( ... )

Jonouchi had allowed his eyes to close, and was actually starting to drift off a bit. He hadn't realized just how tired he was. First there was the initial shock of being in a strange place, then meeting all those people and explaining Duel Monsters to Zetsu... his adrenaline was just now dropping off. He would've passed out completely if the sound of someone banging something hadn't jarred his system once more.

His eyes shot open and he sat up on the bed, eyes darting about the room until they fell on Machi. He recognized him, it was the kid from downstairs! Perfect. Lady Luck was still on his side it seemed. He had wanted to ask the kid a few questions, but never got the chance before. This was a good a time as any.

"Hey, wait a sec! I wanted to talk to you earlier. You're the piano guy, right? Come on in, have a seat."

Machi finished rubbing his elbow and entered the room after a moment's hesitation, eyes still hidden by his sunglasses and expression enutral. It was the most profoundly normal room so far--in fact, it reminded him a lot of the hotel rooms he'd spent the past years sleeping in. But this was a good opportunity to figure out what was going on, if he could. He'd gotten a positive impression of this guy from earlier, since he'd been relatively polite about not bothering him.

"I, uh... not knowing name," he admitted, not actually sure where sitting should take place. He remained standing instead.

"Jonouchi. Call me Jonouchi." The kid wasn't the best speaker, but he was easy enough to understand. The duelist twisted around and got his legs off the bed, sitting on the edge of it and patting the spot next to him. "C'mon, relax. Nothing to be scared of in this room, far as I can tell. Not like that weird dark room." He felt himself shudder involuntarily. That place was just creepy.

"So whats yer story? You get dumped here with the rest of us?

Machi frowned slightly--he didn't really feel comfortable sitting next to the stranger, though. Instead, he took a deep breath, preparing for what was hopefully going to be the most English he'd have to say at once for a while. He'd just avoid saying that name for now, he had a hard enough time saying Apollo's last name. He gripped his right elbow with his left hand, keeping the other arm straight by his side as he turned his head to avoid looking at Jonouchi.

"...yes, I falling from... um, doorway. Not this, doorway at... home. I... not understanding... how house work." He'd actually seen the dark room and knew what 'Jonouchi' was talking about, although it had mostly reminded him of the time he'd gotten lost and locked in the backstage and their manager had had to find him. "I can't finding way out, just lock door, lock window." He stared at Jonouchi, although it was probably hard to tell. He seemed nice enough, though--maybe he could rely on Jonouchi to... make things make sense.

Jonouchi nodded as he tried to piece everything together. First, what did he know about this kid? He seemed to be fairly young, he had something of an accent, he was a piano player, and he was either blind or had a great love of sunglasses. Not much to go on, but it was more than he knew about anyone else he had met (with the exception of Zetsu). It was still weird that a kid would get dumped here all alone, but after meeting the plant man, he was very well convinced that nothing here was supposed to make sense ( ... )

"... yes." Machi kept a steady poker face while he said this. He wasn't really thrilled with the idea of being trapped in a house with a bunch of strangers--on his own would have been bad enough. It was starting to bother him that he could understand so much. At first it had simply been weird, but now it was disconcerting, unsettling even. His comprehension of English was well ahead of his speech, but that didn't mean he should be getting every single word. Right now he'd have to make small talk, though.

"Where you from?"

"Me? I'm from Domino, Japan. It's not the biggest city, but we've got sunny skies, good technology, and the King of Games baby!" His face filled with pride. It always made him feel good, to think that his best friend had the title 'King of Games.' Someday... someday he'd catch Yugi! He'd be the best around! Until that day though, he'd always be proud of his pal.

"What about you?" He looked over the sunglasses kid once more, giving him a more appraising eye. He had never seen anyone wear clothes quite like that. Not in Japan, not in the States, not anywhere. Though the others he had met in the house hadn't exactly been shining examples of fashion, their clothes (with maybe the exception of Cutey) hadn't been too far out there. This kid though, he was something else.

"... Borginia." He pronounced it a bit like Boh-ru-gi-nee-a, with a slight roll on the 'r.' It was a little awkward saying it--Borginia was not the biggest country, and Lamiroir was, in fact, its biggest claim to fame as far as much of the world was concerned. This Lamiroir had explained to him one night in the hotel room, while they had been discussing something else completely unrelated. It was true, however, that 'Lamiroir' and 'Borginia' were basically synonymous.

"I have played in Japan," he told Jonouchi honestly--although he had, in fact, never heard of Domino, nor had he been there. "I like." Well, it was really just another country, but it seemed not quite right to say that.

The hell? He had never heard of that country before. Then again, he had also never met a plant man before, never been called a kidnapper before, and never seen ninjutsu before. It was a great day for firsts. Played in Japan? He could only guess that he meant the piano. So this kid was some kind of famous piano player then? Add that to the list of firsts. It made sense though. Rich people'd pay to see just about anything. A kid piano player from a foreign country seemed like just the sort of thing that'd fit the bill.

"Borginia, eh? What's it like there?" There, that was much better to say than 'what the hell kind of place is that?'
