Having grown worried about his collar buddy, Jonouchi had followed the line into the greenhouse. He hadn't expected to be stuck there, locked away from the rest of the house. Still, once he got past the initial shock and anger, he made the best of it. It wasn't the first time the house had messed with anyone, so he supposed it shouldn't be too surprising. He had swung by the laundry room, which was less of a room and more of a closet. There he gave his threads a run through the machines as he sat there, practicing his hand seals and hoping nobody would walk in on his naked self. Once they had finished, he kept at his training for a while longer. The twelve signs wouldn't learn themselves, and he wouldn't master them unless he was willing to put in plenty of training time. The cramping of his hands was his signal to stop and find some other way to entertain himself ( ... )

Zetsu found it a little curious to see what definitely had to be Jonouchi's backside in the Empty Bedroom's doorway, not in the least because it was.... well, empty. Right? There was no reason for anyone to need to go in there, considering that Jonouchi's room was nicer, and he hadn't seen a note in there today. Had one recently appeared? Maybe he should take a look.... Or at the very least, he could just say hi and make a little small talk, and try and ignore this damned collar that had ruined his day ( ... )

It took Mio several moments to realize she'd been spoken to, head lifting slightly as she attempted to locate the source, "...eh?...oh...sorry, I spaced out..." She back at the window, assessing that it was still evening before looking back to Jonouchi and now noticing that Zetsu was there as well. So those two were trapped in here, too, then. She wasn't sure whether to be relieved or horrified. It was nice to have familiars around, but it was impossible to say how long they'd be trapped here and...well, she supposed Zetsu would be able to make due regardless of the situation. Jonouchi she was more concerned for ( ... )

"Spaced out? Jeez, no kidding you spaced out. You sure you're alright, Mio?" The duelist took a few more steps towards her cautiously, eyes darting about the room. He didn't even notice that his leafy mentor had entered behind him. Just like a few moments ago, there still was no sign of anything in the room to be scared of, and he mentally chided himself. He was being paranoid! There wasn't anything to worry about, and he was setting a bad example for Mio. Taking a deep breath, he drew himself up confidently and took a few strides towards the younger girl. There, he told himself. That was much more like him ( ... )

Zetsu entered silently after Jonouchi, taking a look around himself: nothing. There was no new note on the floor that he could see--the mattress had even been flipped up against the wall to make sure--, no new furniture in the room, the mattress didn't seem to have any damage, or anything stuck inside it.... It was, quite simply, as barren as one would normally expect the room to be. "A sensible thing to do, even in here--this room has offered clues before." And troubles to go with them, naturally.

But now that he saw there was no danger here and that nothing was wrong with Mio, once he finally did speak, he was calm enough, even thoughtful. "But we can't be sure that this is a puzzle to solve. It could just as easily be something that happened before," And Mio would obviously know what he meant by that, a suggestion of some sort of reenactment of the house's past troubles, acted out by the house itself rather than the ghosts, "or a tactic to wear us down for some purpose. Considering the area we're in, it would be quite effective."
