Today--or was it this week? This month? God almighty, she was losing track of time here, and fast; this long day and longer night business just wasn't doing it for her--had been, while not miserable, certainly discouraging. Waking up with a collar around her neck and a leash to follow, (she was really starting to fucking hate that leash) and finding out she was chained physically and emotionally to some disgusting inhuman berserk monster who only wanted to go on a sinning spree while she wasn't angry.... It made no sense, but there it was. Anna was only glad she hadn't felt anything of the sort yet. All she wanted, honestly, was some peace and quiet, someone who was sensible, smart, and reliable that she could get along with, and to know what the fuck was going on. Was that really so much to ask? (She'd done the "All I want is a warm bed, a kind word, and unlimited power." thing in Erde already, though not by choice, and it definitely wasn't what it had been cracked up to be ( ... )

As the door opened Edwin was tracing a finger down some particularly hard runes, as he consigned them each to memory they lept off the page and leapt up to circle around his head. As he looked up, enraged to berate whoever it was disturbing his meditations, the runes dimmed and faded slightly. This meant he would have to spend even more time memorizing them, why were the simpleton inmates of this house to stupid?

"Go away you imbecilic moron, can't you see that I am- Urgh!" He suddenly realised it was a woman and dived for the sheets, slamming his books shut and dispersing the runes. He also treated Anna to a short glimpse of what real wizards wear under their robes, white linen underwear. His first thought wasn't so much why a woman was entering his bedchamber, but rather why she was quite old and fully clothed. "Ah! Where did you learn your manners, woman? Knock before entering a man's bedchamber! Why are you hear anyway? She cannot be the welcoming committee anyway, far too old. But still..."

....Woah. Flying runes, that was a new one.... She could almost see Sandy, wide eyed and fascinated. He would probably drool over being in a situation like this, huh? Able to meet some real live wizard? He probably wouldn't think she was so lucky if HE was facing a wizard in his skivvies. Really, she supposed she ought to be thankful he was wearing underwear at all, even if it was kind of thin.... "I didn't know anyone had this room. I'm looking for a free one." She stifled a sigh, reminding herself that he was probably just defensive out of embarrassment; who wanted to be caught in that state of undress, anyway ( ... )

"Well while my room is always open to female companionship of a ceratin sort." Edwin said, covering his skinny frame with the many duvets on his bed. "Normally I expect them to be invited and in healthier body." He snarled defensively, looking the intruder up and down. She had a pleasant enough body he supposed, but those greying hairs did nothing for him, and she was losing her build as women often did at that age. Overall not his first choice of bed companions, although beggars couldn't be choosers ( ... )

"I hate to break it to you, Merlin, but you're no bed of roses yourself." God, men. Why were so many of them so focused on looks, looks, looks? She looked perfectly fine! Sure, maybe she could stand to drop a couple pounds, but in her opinion, she'd aged pretty damned well for a partially single mother of three and a teacher of disrespectful undergrads. It wasn't as if she exactly had the time or dye--or much makeup or nice clothes, for that matter--to keep herself looking at her best. And if men held themselves to the same standards of beauty that they held women.... Well, there would probably be a lot fewer people blowing hot air like him on the dating scene, that was for sure ( ... )
