Nataku walked out of the Perfume Bedroom, stretching his arms as he had just woken up from a nap. It was going to be night time soon and Nataku figured he should do his best to rest up for whatever was coming--especially since the door was blocked.

It was a good thing he'd been stocking some food up in his and Zetsu's bedroom just in case they wound up keeping to themselves like on that first night.

"Hey, you okay?" he said upon spotting a blond boy he didn't recognize by the door and walking up to him, "Did you just get here?"

At least Al's wounds were clean and his bandages new and fresh. That's all that Ed could really ask for, at the moment. But with night coming soon...

And then...wonderful. Sounded like someone was kicking a door down the hall. He stopped, listened carefully through the bathroom door. Voices?

Someone was out there.

He went back to Al, helping him get on a fresh shirt he had found in one of the rooms. "I'll be right back, okay Al? There's someone out there. I'm going to check it out." The buttons were put in their proper holes quickly, and he touched Al's shoulder affectionately as he stepped away, making his footsteps heard for Al's sake.

He opened the door to the bathroom, glancing down the hall. "Hey! Don't you know that kicking stuff in here won't do you a damn bit of--"

Edward stopped. Breathed, finally. Nataku was there, yes...the kid he had met his first night in this damned place, but...his eyes were on the other.

Oh God.

Not him. Not here. This couldn't...

He swallowed.

"A-" Tried again. "A-Alfons....?"

...as if Alphonse was going to really just stay behind while his brother went to investigate whatever that noise was. Maybe it was his curiosity that drove him, but he only waited a moment after hearing the footsteps, before he slid off of the toilet, and followed quietly after his brother.

Naturally, he couldn't see the other two men that they came across, after a moment - but he heard his brother's reaction, and was confused for a moment. He didn't immediately catch the slight difference in the stressing of syllables, and froze; as if Edward had realized he followed.

But that didn't seem to be it, at all.

"Brother...?" he asked, quietly, unsure.

“Huh?”

Alfons blinked before turning around-how was it that he could get snuck up on so easily? He always had been a bit of a scatterbrain maybe, but...

The newcomer looked a bit strange though...all white robes with odd markings on his face...and his hair seemed a bit...messy? Perhaps that wasn't the right word.

Alfons gave him the kindest smile he could muster.

“Yes, a-actually. Are you one of the tenants?”

That was the right word, right? Tenant...?

...Though it was hard to think with that SECOND voice he heard.

...

No.

It couldn't be. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

It couldn't...

It couldn't be...

Alfons turned his head to the wall, staring at the wood. It was just a voice. He wasn't there. He couldn't be there. Not after all that happened-it was too much of a coincidence, oh God...

No...

It wasn't him...

"Ummm... If that's what you want to call it," he said, scratching the back of his neck. Tenant was as good a thing to call the people stuck here as anything. They might as well.

He was about to ask for the blond boy's name when a familiar voice called out and he smiled at the sight of someone he'd met before.

"Hi, Ed!" he said with a wave and grinned at the smaller boy behind him.
