Characters: Fiona Belli, Courtney Crumrin Setting: Small Library Time: Day 003, Afternoon, just after Fiona's exit in It's a broken hallelujah. Summary: Fiona and Courtney are reacquainted. Warnings: None.
Fiona felt a wave of misery come over her as the panic subsided, a sinking feeling that made her want to curl up and cry. She didn't question it, she'd felt like that far too often to do so. She jumped a little as she heard the sound of footsteps behind her, at first irrationally wondering if perhaps the man from before had followed her before deciding they were too light to be a person of that size. That was a small relief. The bigger one came when she saw that it was a familiar face. Courtney...she hadn't seen her the other night
( ... )
Courtney knew she wasn't much of a smiler, but she was tempted to make one now. Fiona was okay! The younger girl had been worrying her head off about her all this time, and... well, she still looked fragile and kind of sad-looking, but there wasn't much she could do for that, right?
The collar was a disconcerting subject, though - for both of them, it seemed. Especially after she had explained it. "So... some creep just put it on you while you were sleeping? Or did this house...?" The collar actually reminded her of the slave auctions in the Twilight Kingdom, when mortals were sold off as pets, cleaners and the like. If someone thought they could sell off Fiona, somewhere, then they got another thing coming...
"I don't see a collar, no," she said with a frown. "But you can? Have you tried following it to see where it leads?" She was sitting besides Fiona now, a hand on her shoulder. It was the best she could do when it came to physical interaction... she hoped the older woman took comfort from her presence.
Fiona scratched at the collar a little, only now taking her regular choker off, something she normally only did while showering. With the second collar that'd appeared, there was little sense in wearing it, it would be more problematic than anything.
"I don't know...I should have noticed if it were a person." She wasn't a heavy sleeper anymore, there were too many points during which she woke up either in strange places or with someone hovering over her with intent to harm. She no longer had it in her to panic after the worst of it had passed, although Courtney's presence was a small comfort. Being with someone familiar...was nice.
She did, however, tense a little in response to her question. The tone in her voice as she answered suggested she didn't want to talk about it too much, "...The man that it leads to found me."
