Machi had no interest in joining the rest of the festivities. For him, the party--and indeed, the sense of celebration itself--consisted of only one thing: his pack, playing energetically off to the side, romping and teasing each other to the music with an almost joyful bent. He had stuffed himself with food, predominantly meats and fruits, before separating himself to supervise a friendly tussle between the gamma and a couple of lower ranked hounds, who kept interrupting their match to cover each other and him with long, wet, sloppy kisses

Ciel had always had a fondness for dogs. Watching the hellhounds play with each other gave him a sense that the way in which they were loyal to each other- part of what he loved the most about dogs- was no different from the normal canines of his world. He found himself smiling faintly at their antics.

As one of the goat butlers passed by Ciel grabbed a piece of raw meat off his tray, whistling, and tossing the meat over to the dogs. He figured that they, like the other residents, were seeming to be nice. What was the harm in tossing them a bit of meat?

Ange had been to parties more times than she'd have liked, but it'd never been a particularly pleasant experience for her. Rather than it being something for her to enjoy or to learn from, it was just one more excuse for her aunt to harass her and to publicly humiliate her under the guise of teaching her proper etiquette; more often than not she would even go as far as to attack Ange's parents, blaming them for how "unrefined" she was

There was another red head hanging around the party. Richter himself had never actually attended anything like this; after all, he was a half-elf from Sybak. Aster, maybe, but definitely not someone like the half-elf researcher that Richter was. But that didn't matter in this place. None of the various temples found in Tethe'alla- no, none of the Temples found in Aselia were half as dangerous as this place. Even the Balacruft Mausoleum with all it's ancient traps and puzzles was cakewalk compared to this place
