Characters: Augustus Sinclair and OPEN to whoever. Setting: Entrance Room and the Grand Room Time: Night Summary: Sinclair's arrival Warnings: Possibly profanity.
Despite her lack of introduction to the ways of the house, Mai had already pretty much figured out how she felt about it, and that was long string of words that she had never uttered.
Now that her second night had come here, Mai was on her guard. Except this time, she wasn't fighting against the demons in her school that had seemed at least mostly benign; she was fighting against monsters that she had never heard of or seen before.
She had narrowly escaped several of the wall monster things and was now running down the hallway, sword unsheathed. She had a stitch in her side, but she ignored it until she was entirely out of breath. She slowed, coming to a stop in front of a doorway to catch her breath. She leaned forward, one hand on her knee as she took deep, calming breaths.
I really hate it here.
Straightening, Mai turned her head to look int the room beside her. An orange glow spilled out of it, so there was probably a fire burning...or maybe there was some sort of firefly monster. You can never tell here. She thought she could

He searched the room he currently stood in. It sure did seem fancy. Sinclair figured it would be a nice place to enjoy a large meal. The room reminded him of both Ryan and Fontaine's rooms when he had been invited, far back in the good old days.
Sinclair found his way over by the fire and stood by it, enjoying the heat. For years, things were always cold. It had been long since he was surprised to see a group gathered around a fire in Rapture. He sighed, rubbing his hands together.
Hearing a voice, Sinclair quickly turned on his heel. "Hello? Somebody there?" He stepped away from the fire and followed the voice. Catching sight of a dark figure, he hurried by the feminine voice. "I'm glad to see there's others here. Do you happen to know where I am, Miss?" He questioned with a relieved smie on his face.
(( OOC: I'm going camping so I probably won't be able to reply until Monday. DDD: ))
Mai sighed inwardly in relief. So it wasn't some big, bad monster who likes the taste of human girls. Just a regular guy. "You're in a house," she replied, then realized how unhelpful that was. It's like telling a guy in the forest that he's in a forest.
"I don't know what the house is in particular, it's just a...house," she finished lamely. All those years of not talking were really catching up to her. "It...there's a lot of monsters here of some sort. I would watch yourself."
That, at least, was a helpful piece of information. Mai congratulated herself for her intelligence. He would hopefully remember her for the rest of his days as an intelligent woman who told him exactly what he needed to know. Nevermind the fact that "there's monsters here" was not incredibly particular.
I guess I could introduce myself, she thought to herself, before inclining her head slightly. "I'm Mai Kawasumi. And you are...?" she let the question hang, deciding to

Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "It's just a house?" Why was he in a random house? And from what he had seen so far, the house was kind of creepy. It seemed dark and mysterious, but that was just from looking outside. "How come I can't open the door?"
His head tilted to the side with the mention of monster. Sure, he'd seen his share of monsters. Sinclair thought about the situation. Creepy house. Monsters. This had to be something like a nightmare. Luckily, nothing had happened. "What kind of monsters?"
He suddenly noticed how young the girl appeared and felt a little bad for asking all the questions. Though, he did seem more familiar with it than he was. "I'm Augustus Sinclair." He told her. "Do you live here, Mai?"
