Characters: Break, Ciel, Watanuki Setting: Hallway Time: Late Day 019 Summary: Break and his evil henchmen Watanuki and Ciel investigate these whispering little bugs. Warnings: OM NOM NOM BEETLE BITES. ( Also the cat's friends.... oops, sorry guys. )
Watanuki startled a bit. Not as much as he would have a few months ago, he'd grown a bit immune to Break's dramatic entrances into rooms, but it had still been quiet in the room and he'd honestly been somewhere else in his head.
Luffy lifted his head from the pillows, tail swishing once in greeting.
"Interrupting what?" He'd been cleaning his sword, really, nothing that Break hadn't seen half a million times. "Nothing really to interrupt, is there? Unless I'm having a wild party and no one told me." He glanced around the room, smile lacking the humor it probably should have held. "And you hate being rude about as much as you hate cake, Break. Don't give me that." He looked past Break, raising an eyebrow at the kid. "Made a friend?"
Ceil entered the room, arms folded, looking rather irritated. How was it that he won the chess game, but was not enjoying his “prize”? He would trade Break for Sebastian for a moment, even if they did share the same taste for sweets. He had already asked the old man to not follow the bugs, that all that would result in is them getting bit. Could he not see that they were bright red? Doesn’t that mean that they’re dangerous? Of course, he remind Break of all the other dangers the house had produced that Ciel had experienced or heard of in one night, and that considering where they were that these things could not just be plain beetles, but of course, Break did not listen to a word he said.
And Ciel does not like being ignored, least of all by his own servant, even if Break was his servant for only two more days. So, Ciel was in a rather sour mood as they walked into the bedroom.
Watanuki referring to Ciel as Break’s friend did not do anything to improve his mood.

"Mmmm? Watanuki, would you accuse me of being liar? How cruel!" But the mockery only lasted a second. This was a business call after all. (And maybe, just the slightest bit, because Break hadn't been around as much and he missed him.) "It's as Master Phantomhive says. I'll save his life, so long as he does what I tell him."
He knelt by the bed and scratched Luffy's ears, watching Watanuki carefully. He still looked like the ghost of a man, but Break wasn't about to let him mope about down here all the time. Especially not with something so interesting going on upstairs.
"In any case, we've got some interesting visitors. Would you care to take a look with us?"
A chess game? His eyes slid to the child, then back to Break, eyebrow quirking in silent question. So you choose to lose, then? I wonder why? What is that child to you, Break?
Break never played a game unless he was sure he could win. So what had been the stakes, and what had he gained from following the child around?
He wondered absently if the child realized they were still playing? It didn't seem so. Not with his quick dismissal of Break's importance.
What game are you playing now, Break?Luffy chirped, nuzzling Break's hand, standing delicately on the mattress. He recognized Ciel, even if Watanuki had been asleep when the game had been played. But his interest in the child was not nearly as important to his foxy brain as Break himself. He nuzzled the man's shoulder, confused, then started carefully exploring his pockets for a hint to where Emily had gone

Okay, grabbing Ciel muse by the scruff of his neck and dragging him back. Sorry for the short post.queenslapdogJuly 1 2010, 04:10:05 UTC
As long as he listened to Break? Was Break insane? That was never part of the agreement, and Ciel hated when people went back on contracts.“What do you mean do what you say!?” Ciel turned on Break, pointing at him. “That was never part of the agreement!”
Sebastian breaking their contract was bad enough. Not to mention that Ciel had absolutely no interest in listening to what this man had to say. Ciel did not even want to go with Break to investigate these bugs, but clearly there was no talking this man out of his crazy plan. It was either go with him, or be alone and possibly run into other ghosts or monsters with no protection like he had the last night.
He crossed his arms again and turned to Watanuki with a ‘tch’ing sound. “These are giant beetles with nasty looking pincers. What do you think?” Ciel was clearly agitated about this whole mess that Break was dragging him into.
