Perhaps Courtney would find, once she had woken up more fully, that she was not alone.

Granted, if she didn't immediately notice, it wouldn't be too surprising either. Her companion was small and silent, partially hidden amidst a tangle of strangely overgrown, wild looking flowers, beside a tree not far from Courtney, and certainly much smaller than the willow. She looked to be no more than eight years old, and though not bedraggled, certainly unhappy and out of sorts. In fact, she looked downright frightened and upset, wide eyes darting back and forth even as they often stopped to focus on Courtney. She held her arms clasped around her--probably more for reassurance than warmth, in spite of her shivering.

She was probably justified in her fear. It was dark here, and wild, and very unsettling--despite the fact that she was keeping an eye on Courtney, it definitely felt as though there were other eyes on the young witch as well.

As Courtney got up to stretch her legs, alert now that she sensed that she was in a hostile environment... and alone, to boot. It was a scary thought, the idea that she was all alone here, no one to notice if she was snatched away - not Nanaki, not Uncle Aloysius, not anyone. So many things could happen to her in this place, and people'd just carry on, worrying about themselves in this place. Now she really did know the meaning of Koizumi's 'congratulations', earlier in the day ( ... )

Allison turned to look up at Courtney, shivering still; she seemed a little less agitated with the older girl there. She didn't answer, though, or offer her name--instead, she merely offered Courtney a tentative smile as she emerged from the bed of flowers. Apparently she had decided to accept Courtney's invitation, as she was moving towards the door that let them out of the Greenhouse and into the house proper....

If Courtney had good eyes and followed, she might realize that she was being led in a route that kept them a respectable distance away from the mysteriously melted door, and that as nervous as the poor thing already was, looking at it left her even more agitated than before.

Courtney couldn't help giving the girl a small, itty bitty smile back, which quickly faded as she began to move away from the flowers, towards the grand room door. Seemed like she wanted to follow her... well, okay then. She was getting a bit ahead of her, though, and she tried to keep up, walking fast, and attempting to grasp the girl's arm. "Hey. Hey, wait up!" she said in a low voice. "Here, take my hand, at least."

With mild shock, she felt her hand pass through the girl. This girl wasn't even alive! Courtney had dealt with ghosts before - she had even convinced one to give up their haunting, talking to them reasonably. She wasn't afraid so much as startled, though it did make her curious as to why she was here, and why the younger girl was helping her out.
