Marta allowed hand to be tugged down easily enough, only making a half-hearted effort to pull her hand back. It wasn't like a kitten could actually hurt her or anything.
"So that this can be one of those rare times where you complaints are justified." Marta raised her head to look at him as he sat down for a moment, wondering just what he was looking at her like that for, before turning her attention back to the kitten in question and shrugging. "She was here when I came in. Isn't she cute, though?~ I wonder if anyone'd mind if I kept her." It wasn't like she could take the kitten very far, so it probably didn't matter either way, but that fact didn't really deter her from wanting to take the kitten with her, even if there was a high likelihood that her owner was probably nearby.
"My complaints are always justified. You just refuse to acknowledge it." Hidan pointed out to Marta, smirking as he stretched out along the couch. He folded his arms and rested his chin on them, considering the playful pair as he reached out to run a hand down Winny's back; Winny offered the pair an almost chirping mew, hanging onto Marta's hand as she licked the girl's fingers.
His hand slid back up, ruffling the fur at the back of Winny's neck. "You might as well keep her; it doesn't look like she's got a collar. Besides, if she does belong to anyone, they'll probably be asking around after their kitten, anyway, and you could just hand her back then." He wondered why they were calling the cat a her, anyway--as cute and fluffy as she was, she didn't look much like a girl or boy, one way or the other. Then again, it wasn't like he was exactly an experienced vet, either....
"I refuse to acknowledge it because they hardly ever are." Sure, he had a point every now and again, but normally it seemed like he was just complaining for the sake of complaining. She laughed quietly as the kitten started licking her fingers, smiling at Hidan's petting her. Paying attention to a kitten all things was so unlike him.
"I guess you're right. I mean, it's not like I'll be going anywhere with her or anything." For now she allowed the kitten to keep her hand hostage, only occasionally wiggling her fingers or or halfheartedly starting to tug her hand away. She lifted her head to look up at Hidan. "You'll help me take care of her, right?" She didn't really expect him to, she was honestly surprised that he was encouraging her to keep the kitten instead of whining about it, but she couldn't help but want to tease him.
"Says you." Hidan offered Marta a lazy smirk, though it lacked more than a token bite to it, rolling his eyes exaggeratedly as his head dropped back down to rest on his forearm. He was, if nothing else, settled down and more or less content. Complaining and arguing were a communication style for him, a way of life, and certainly a way to pass the time.
After all, considering how much he and Kakuzu had traveled, what else did he usually have to do with their time? It was hard to pick up a real hobby while constantly on the road, silence was dull, and their beliefs clashed too viciously to let them talk peaceably all the time. Complaining and companionable arguing (or vicious arguing, as the circumstances and topics sometimes merited) were a fine way to maintain a status quo and keep tabs on how they were doing as a pair.
He snorted at her question, head rolling to the side so he could look up at her with one eye. "I'm not cleaning up this thing's shit, seriously; if you want to keep her, you can pick up after her. But if I'm going to

"That's right, and everything I say is true." Marta couldn't help but smile a bit more at him. At times like this she almost didn't mind their arguments. She still didn't really like them, never being one to believe that two people who were close should fight, let alone so frequently, but then again it wasn't like she and Hidan were close or anything like that.
She shook her head a bit at him as he began to answer her question, instantly wondering if that was really the first thing that his mind went to when someone asked him for help, before laughing softly as he continued. It really was surprising for him to be so compliant, and even more amusing due to the fact that he was agreeing to help take care of a kitten of all things. It was enough to make her decide that she could forgive him for now
