Quatre was making his way toward the library a short time later. He had spent most of the day thus far in the warmth of the Observatory, but he could only boggle at the floating islands outside for so long before it ceased to be shocking. Hopefully the library could offer some entertainment.

He was dressed head to toe in warm clothing pilfered from the Sewing Room, unused to the 'extreme' cold that had arrived with the dawn. In one hand he still carried the long staff that had come to Acedia with him. It was comforting, somehow, having something from his home world at hand.

He didn't notice the girl above, his view of the roof blocked by the hood of the cloak he was wearing.

THUD! Patchouli dropped down and swooped on Quatre, seeking to knock him to the floor. Okay, maybe not. It was intended as more of a gentle, friendly hug, but it wound up as her dropping on him and knocking him over.

"Good morni~ing~!" She cooed, giggling. "Why, I have not seen... anyone pass near my library in days..." She soon let go, floating just off the ground before offering a hand to Quatre. Had he dropped his staff, Patchouli handed it back to Quatre.

"Oh, but what brings you here? So few come this way any more, so you can understand why I ask, can't you?"

Quatre cried out and struggled as he hit the floor, surprised by the sudden 'attack.' Her voice did little to reassure him, its friendliness as worrying as hostility. All he could think of was that some monster or ghost had remained into the day--who knew what it wanted from him?

When she released him, he scrambled agilely away and turned to get a better look at his attacker. She was floating. Her purple hair barely registered as unusual beside that! She was definitely not a human... but she didn't seem to be pursuing him, either. Quatre backed away as she approached to pass him his staff, not sure how close he was willing to get to such a strange and potentially dangerous spectre.

"My name is Quatre Winner; I'm just looking for some books," he told her, speaking clearly and politely. After a brief pause he added, "Is that alright?" She had called it 'her' library, after all.

"Hm~? Of course you can look for something..." She floated a little closer, seemingly a little amused. He was so... afraid of her. There was nothing to be afraid of, right? She soon backed away, though. "It's only 'my' library because I, well... live there now."

She waited for him to attempt to go in, before she made her next move. She still had to work out what to say. Even witht he brain surgery having a profound effect on her personality, she still didn't know what to say yet.
