Sonic was never one to be afraid of the dark. If Dark Gaia proved anything, it's that it was incredibly hard to ruffle the quills of this hedgehog. He was used to being watched too, although his audiences tended to be much more covert about it than the eyes here. Suffice to say, Sonic spent as much time making funny faces at the eyes as he did going round the basement and the catacombs that it was attached too. Though he'd never admit that he got lost somewhere between the elevator doors to nowhere and the pile of corpses (which Sonic made sure to steer clear of, partly because his hedgehog instincts refused to go close to it and partly because, well.... ewwwww ( ... )

It was night, it was dangerous - but he was also alone. At some point he... he seemed to have lost track of all of his friends in the house. He didn't know where they were, and he was worried... something ached in him, telling him that they might be gone - memories flashing back to the Lantern Keeper, and her tragic information - but he couldn't accept that. There was nothing to say they weren't still here, so he would look for them ( ... )
