Nina was lost.

Well. No.

Nina wasn't lost, Mr. Chaos and Big Brother and Mr. Nanakai and Mr. Break were all lost. Nina knew exactly where she was. Everyone else had moved.

Nina thought she should get a Leash for Mr. Chaos, like Daddy had for Alexander, only Alexander was good and stayed with them even without a leash.

Nina had only been looking for the puppies, she had turned just one corner and then Mr. Chaos was gone. Nina huffed, hugging Mr. Bear close to her chest. Honestly, grown-ups go on and on about not running off, and Nina stood still and they left her behind.

Grown-ups.

She padded forward on stockinged feet, peering into the rooms, and curiously back at the eyes that looked at her. She'd told one of them 'hello' but they didn't seem interested in playing, so Nina had continued on. " Where did everyone go? Mr. Chaos? Mr. Nanakai? Mr. Break?" and then hesitant, because she hadn't seen him in a long time. "Big Brother?"

The door wouldn't open. Vincent had taken it first with his right hand, turning the knob like a normal man, but it had caught--hadn't turned at all, in fact, and there was no lock to be found. After running his hands over the edges of it, he'd attempted next to force the knob with his left hand, then to break it down--nothing. His shoudler was now a little tingling, but there was nothing to be done. He would have to find another way out ( ... )

Nina couldn't see well in the dark. She could see shadows and movement, but not much else. She clutched Mr. Bear. She was SURE she had heard someone moving around. "Hello?"

Maybe she should go back upstairs. She didn't like downstairs nearly as much, it was far too open, and it made everything sound funny. "Mr. Chaos? Big Brother? Puppies?"

Vincent slipped along the shadows, using the movement of his cloak to hide his movement as he slid through the darkness, his red eyes on her as he passed along the wall. His gaze flicked to the hallway, scrutinising the passage in a matter of seconds. There was no one behind her. What was a little girl doing here? His instincts suggested a trap, but experience suggested otherwise... he didn't trust it either way.

Flipping his cloak back behind him, he stopped directly behind the child, letting his golden claw hang by his side as he waited for her to advance a little more before moving, treading silently behind her. Then he spoke, his low, even voice cutting over hers--not harsh, but not particularly gentle.

"Where is this?" It was clearly a demand.

Nina had been trying to peer into the room with the piano, only to check. She knew the window was one of her favorite places to be and Mr. Chaos might have been looking in here after he got lost.

And then there was a voice, right behind her.

She did the only reasonable thing she could, she screamed and bolted, off like a shot for the piano.

It was big, big with a small space behind it that monsters couldn't fit in! She could hide.

Mr. Chaos had *said* she should be careful.
