Quatre didn't reach the attic until Sekai was already on her way down to the stairs. The Unpeople scattered throughout that room put him on edge, but at least they seemed uninterested in him. He hesitated at the top of the stairs, peering downward into the inky darkness. This passage definitely hadn't been here when he had explored the house during the day... Quatre adjusted his grip on the staff in his hands, one of his few souvenirs from his home and his only weapon ( ... )

Sekai was frozen in something like terror as she stood there, feeling sick to her stomach all over again, which seemed to make her injury on her side burn somewhat. While she resisted the urge to vomit, she did begin to cry silently at the sight, leaning heavily on her crutches. She was hit hard with the horror and the reminder of what she'd done. Of what she'd done to Makoto - and of what Makoto had done to her. Why had this happened? She had to ask herself that...

But she froze up (only for a brief moment, before the tension hurt) when she suddenly became aware that someone else was there. She tried to turn around, taking a painful step back.

"Wh-who are you?" she demanded, trying to sound as intimidating as she was frightened. Her biggest fear, as she groped for the knife she so hoped she was holding on to, was that he'd seen that. If he'd seen what she'd done too... he wouldn't understand, would he?

((ooc: sorry for suck. And looks like I can't tag that other thread after all, oops.))

"Don't!" Quatre cried, guessing what she was reaching for. "I don't want to fight you!" His voice betrayed his feelings: Quatre was tense and scared, horrified by his first real taste of what his new home had to offer.

He backed away a few steps, still holding his staff defensively. She looked too injured to be a real threat, but as a Gundam pilot Quatre knew all about pushing the body beyond its limits.

((Oh pff, stop saying things like that! It's fine! |D And don't worry about the other one. If a tag comes to you, it will. If not, that's alright.))

Sekai faltered easily enough at the shout to not get the knife, and the insistence that he didn't want to fight. She didn't think he sounded that confident or anything, but the teen was far from a seasoned fighter or an aggressive person, really. But she was still fearful, and so her hand remained - it was no longer moving, but it was at ready, or so she felt it was. She tried to hold her ground and look brave, even as her knees began to shake a little from the emotion and pain, and so she tried to speak:

"Did you...?" She wanted to ask what he'd seen. She wanted to, but she couldn't find the words without just telling him.

((ooc: sorry for the delay, this time! An it's not so much that, haha. It won't... let me. >_> ))

Although he would have preferred for her to move her hand away, Quatre couldn't blame her for keeping her guard up. He relaxed his stance, hoping to show the girl that he meant what he said. Hopefully the girl would be able to offer an explanation for the murder he had just seen committed. It wasn't real, it couldn't have been. It was more like a nightmare, the kind of dream where you can only watch terrible things happen and not interfere. No wonder the girl was shaking.

When he was sure she wasn't going to finish her sentence, the boy answered her earlier question. "I'm Quatre," he told her, trying to speak normally, "Quatre Winner." She had asked, after all, and introducing yourself was a good way to open a dialogue.

((Now it's my turn to apologize! My finals are eating me alive. :x And that's odd. I have no idea what to do about that kind of thing. Does it give you an error page or something?))

It wasn't an answer to her last question, the more pressing one - but it was an answer, and Sekai was glad for the communication. He seemed to be relaxing so... so maybe he'd listen. Maybe she could get herself out of this situation - she was horrified at herself, but... but maybe she could convince him that it really wasn't real, after all.

Sekai's voice shook as she replied, stance still shaky, but she refused to move her hand, or out of her defensive stance. "Se - Sekai Saionji," she offered her name a bit awkwardly. She had to try and salvage this somehow.

((ooc: Yeah it does XD I know why, oops. I might fix it sometime, anyway. >_> ALSO I WON'T EVEN EXCUSE MYSELF, THIS TIME. It shouldn't happen again, sorry. x_x Also, Merry Christmas? B|))

Quatre paused, deliberating on how to proceed. Ms Saionji didn't seem to have any more hostile intentions than he did, he decided, and she was hurt and frightened. He crouched down slowly and set down the staff he had been carrying, never taking his eyes from her. "I'm not going to hurt you, Ms. Saionji," he promised as he rose, "There's no reason for us to fight." He was taking a risk, but she seemed like completely normal person to him.

((ooc: ONE SUDDEN HIATUS LATER... sorrysorrysorry))
