Summary: Kallen actually has to deal with this vampire thing now.

Kallen had slept for a long time. She had hoped she would sleep all day, the more time wasted in this crazy house the better, but if yesterday was any indication, such would not be the case. She grimaced, hating to think that she may actually get used to such a life. But it felt like she’d been there a month and, even if she didn’t really know anyone, it looked like it was something she was stuck with. Not that she was ready to call it a day and set up camp, either.
Regardless, the previous night had been more than hectic. Somehow, her tiny deer friend had managed to salvage her bite ridden body with more medical tape than Kallen thinks she’s ever seen in her entire life. It practically covered her whole torso, which was the only reason she was okay with no longer having a tank top. But there was no rest to be had on any couch nor most of the bedrooms, the early morning sun proving to be too bright to let her properly relax. Minimal poking led her to her current location, a dark room with blackout curtains. With no thought to who else might possibly be taking up residence there, Kallen promptly knocked herself out. She slept for quite some time, though probably not as long as she should have given her body’s condition. If she had really gotten a decent amount of sleep, she should not have been seeing the sun still high in the sky, but then, oh yes, this is a crazy house. She didn’t think she could get back to sleep even if she tried. The good doctor may have ordered her to rest, but she could only sleep for so long it seemed.
Instead, she pushed a curtain to the side and stared out into the bright expanse of sky, head resting against the windowsill. There really was nothing out there...
