"They can't think anymore--they can only do what the phantasms want them to do. Don't--don't think badly of them." A desperate, useless sort of plea.

She probably would. They might cut out her tongue. "As long as I'm not caught, I'll be fine."

That voice...

Mio easily recognized that voice as the same sad, apologetic voice that she'd spoken to on more than one occasion. She was hesitant at best to follow the voice back to the Grand Room, especially considering she still hadn't been able to find Zetsu (was he...really gone...?), but...if someone was offering answers--if that woman was there now....she couldn't ignore that, so it was that she found herself slowly approaching the woman.

"You're..." She began, finding it difficult to continue. She recognized her, too, from one of the previous nights--she was the woman that Mio had seen outside, the one that the phantasms had... she shivered a little as she thought about it, gripping her camera as she tried to work up the nerve to continue, "You're that woman..."

Someone else who recognized her. She nodded. "Did I help you, before?"

"Yes..." Mio stared at the woman for a moment longer before moving to sit on the couch next to her, watching the woman carefully for any indication that the woman might have have been bothered by the action. "Thank you for before..."

The Lanternkeeper moved slightly to make room for her, and smiled. "You're welcome. I'm glad I could help."

Ace had been mostly exploring the House, keeping near to Sanji and trying to figure out where it was safe to be. The girl sitting on the couch didn't look like an evil mastermind, but she obviously knew more than they did.

"How did we get here, and how do we go home?"

Sanji nodded, sticking close to Ace. He saw Usopp and Watanuki as well - Usopp seemed upset about something but there was a lot to ask.

Sanji pointed at his throat and mouthed why?

Of course everyone would ask that. But she shook her head. "No one knows those answers. Well, maybe the phantasms. But--" She shook her head again.

"Then I guess I'll need to ask them." He smiled, lips twitching a bit. "How do we fix the damage that they've done to our friends?"

He didn't know if he'd trust someone who'd admitted to being here longer than any of them, but she also might give a different answer.

Misty was surprised to hear a voice echo through the house, and she had plenty of questions. And she certainly wasn't afraid of confrontation. Especially after visiting the doll's bathroom and noticing that all of the dolls were watching her. Anything was welcome after that.

She carefully ran to the entrance room after hearing the announcement, trying to avoid ghosts...opening the door to the mother's study had shown her a ghost for the first time, and she wasn't planning on getting caught anywhere unsafe. Togepi in her arms, she finally made it...only to see that the woman wasn't alone, and she almost looked like a ghost herself. She didn't know what to say, but she stood a good distance away and watched for a moment before approaching with her question.

"Why am I here?"

Everyone asked that. She looked down at her knees. "I don't know."

"Are you kidding me?! What can you tell me then, huh? How do I get out? What did I do to deserve this?" She pointed and stomped one of her feet. "What kind of person would make Togepi go through this, too?!"

"I don't know, I don't know," she said, again curling into herself. "We all came here this way."

Rena entered the room running, but stopped as she noticed there was someone else in the room. The look of the woman gave her a sense of unease.

She couldn't hear the laughter anymore. That calmed her a bit.

"Can you please let me out?"

"Out? Outside? I--I could, but-- But they'd--" The phantasms would--who knew what they would do.

She clenched her teeth and tried not to scream. "Am I dreaming?" She paused and thought a moment, "Where is this?"

She must have just arrived. "This is Acedia. It's a house. You're trapped here, I'm sorry. There are--monsters and ghosts."
