How were they moving? Why- that's not possible. Not so fast, at least. And what for? This was... this was... he didn't even have words for what this was, but he didn't like it.

Look down.
"....Ciel." That was about the only coherent thing Break could manage for a minute or two. He shook his head and stared back out at the islands. "Well. It would seem that we are moving. Or rather, they are moving. Towards us." He rubbed his temples; he was really sick of this place. "Perhaps we shouldn't be at the edge here- it might not be pretty when they collide."

The night hadn't been so bad for her. She had Togepi, everything was fine. She hadn't seen the islands approaching, though; she was still focusing on getting her wits together. She screamed and covered her ears when they collided. She couldn't even keep her eyes on Togepi during the quake.
Togepi rolled a good distance away from Misty before standing up and looking around. The quaking had stopped, so the jolly little Pokemon skipped off to one of the islands. Misty quickly gave chase, not caring if she bumped into anyone. "Togepi! Get back here!"
She barely managed to grab Togepi before it wandered straight off the island and into the waters far below. The Pokemon immediately started to cry. "Togepi, don't wander off like that..."

It had not hurt, at least not physically--it took far more than a fall to inflict pain on a creature such as him--but the wound to his dignity and pride was deep, and he sat in tense, forced silence, suppressing the futility of his rage and anger.

After she had seized Togepi, though, she turned around and started to walk back. That's when she noticed the Pokemon across from her.
"Mewtwo..."

...then he saw a human girl who attracted much more attention. The recognition was surprise enough, but for her to be here--no. He watched as she grabbed the little Pokémon, preventing it from running off the edge, but before he could successfully pull together the strength to lift himself to his feet and leave, she turned--and said his name. Disbelief trickled through his brain for just a second--then he recovered his faculties entirely, narrowing his eyes sharply.
[.... you.]

It has no points of entry. It cannot be broken into.
There seems to be a powerful barrier of energy around it, unseen to the human eye. But those who come too close to the walls of the fortress will be thrown back by some strange force.

Itachi, Deidara, Zetsu, and Tobi. As far as he knew Zetsu had nothing like this. Though Tobi was the only remaining question, he was skeptical. He rounded the fortress, examining it.

He could recognize the sort of thing that created it. It was an earth technique, with chakra welling up like a bubble so thick it almost blurred his vision.
It reminded him, that sort of technique, or other Earth users he had seen in Suuna. Hell, several of the buildings in the city had been made in a similar manner.
But its appearance on the island meant (not suggested) that there was a shinobi present. And active.
He slowly approached the fortress, his eyes searching for an owner or other activity.

She managed to swallow -- her mouth was dry, even after sucking on some of the grass upon the island. She cleared her throat, making sure her voice still worked, and took a position near the center of the milling crowd. Somebody had to organize them, and if nobody else was willing to do it, Euphemia li Britannia would. She placed her fingers to her lips and whistled -- more loudly than she'd meant to, but hopefully it would get the job done.

"This has gone on for long enough," she called out. "We need to band together and work as a team to figure out a long-term solution. Whether there's edible food or potable water anywhere on this island, or on the ones that have joined together with it, we aren't going to find that out by just milling around like this. We have to be organized."
There were butterflies in her stomach, but she pushed on. This crowd was so much smaller than the one at the SAZ commencement had been. "As of right now... I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm hungry, and I'm thirsty. So please, let's all do our best to get through this trying time, and hopefully..." Could she be so bold? "Hopefully we'll even be able to find a way home. At least we're outside, right?"

Calling for help was, of course, useless, though he didn't know what they'd done to his throat. So he sat at the edge of the island, as far from everyone else as he could get, and stared down into the abyss of ocean far below.
He didn't know what to do.

Either way - he was staying out of the way for the time being, was near the edge fo the island (though the whole situation was unnerving in the first place)... he paused when he saw - saw something up ahead, from him. He nearly thought monster right away, from the obviously inhuman features...but there were still plenty of human features, too. And considering what had happened before... He shook off that thought quickly: that wasn't the point right now. He hesitated, before calling out, cautiously, taking a step forward.
"Are you...?"

The voice, however, startled him out of his reverie. His head jerked sharply toward it, finding a boy there and wondering if he would be attacked. He really shouldn't have moved so close to the edge... He attempted to speak, only made a choking noise, and shrank back uncertainly.
What could he do?

"It's okay..." he said, quietly, taking the hesitation as a sign. He could judge too harshly or quickly in this place, after all, and it was obvious that the other meant no sort of harm, right now.
Alphonse took another cautious step forward.
