It was the scream that broke her out of her thoughts. Looking over towards the foyer as she cut across the main room, Rayne stared for a moment, expression unchanging from it's blank state. Well... The odd star thing was barely given a second glance, even if somewhere in the back of her mind, it seemed familiar. So did the girl, now that she thought of it. But that was ignored, for now, as was the 'attack' that the star seemed to use. Water. Hm. Her clothes covered enough of her body that it shouldn't affect her... And even if it did, she already had barely healed burns that streamed down her face. A few more would be nothing ( ... )

It wasn’t the Abyss. Break wasn’t sure if that was comforting or worrying, but it was certainly not the Abyss. The Abyss was abstract and half-formed, full of weird dolls and inappropriate tea parties in broken houses. This place was very neat, if not a little strange. Well. That wasn’t right either. The hall looked completely normal, and he assumed it belonged to some lesser nobility. But there was nothing strange about the tasteful decoration and elegant oak doors- those were aesthetically pleasing, he approved- but it was certainly strange that he was here. It was also strange that he was accompanied by two young ladies who, good god he hoped they were not nobility because if those were the new trends in high fashion he may well kill himself. That one with red hair especially- he didn't consider himself a prude, but honestly. She looked like a lady of the night. Kids these days. In any case, they were probably servants in the household... which begged the question of where their master was, but all in due time. Oh, and the impaled ( ... )
