Very funny, Nikki. >:| machitobaye March 29 2009, 16:28:26 UTC
...day already.

Machi sat at the piano in the grand room, his rotted hands hovering over the ivory keys. His eyes were partially closed, his thoughts distant. How long...? How long had it been since he'd last been able to play? It felt like a lifetime ago, an existence ago, that he'd been able to turn the music he heard in his head into reality... his eyelids flickered slightly, and his fingers twitched slightly, his inner senses wanting to give in to do what he should not. Not any more. That was not... him.

Anna... why had she done it? She'd endangered herself...

He heard Rayne before he saw her--he always did, she was subtle like a car accident as far as his ears were concerned. She emerged from the hallway in time to see him to tilt his head back, smiling thinly, strangely over his shoulder at her, his eyes half-lidded, his voice smooth.

"...hello, Rayne."

A scowl twisting across her lips, Rayne's eyes narrowed. She hated the fact that he seemed so... calm, even if she doubted that it would last. "Don't 'hello' me, you son of a bitch."

Walking over to tightly grab him by the back of the neck, she drug him off of the bench. Resisting the urge to snap his neck right then and there, the redhead kept her grip on him as she set his feet on the floor, just in case. There was no use in chasing him all over the fucking house, and alerting others to the fact that she needed him captured.

"I assume you know the surgery room under the house?" She asked, voice nearly a growl. After a moment, she gave a sinister smile. "We're going on a little trip there."

Machi was literally dragged off the bench, the joints of his monstrous legs catching the edge of the bench and twisting outwards unnaturally--he would have fallen had Rayne let go, but she didn't. He stumbled, limbs bending inhumanly, but gathered his legs under him, his rotting feet finding the ground securely. He tried to pull out of her grip, pulling forward in a cold attempt to break free, but her hand was stronger than he was willing to risk; he reached out with one overlong, foul arm and seized hers, twisting his head to meet her green eyes with his serious blue ones, unperturbed--but the smile was gone. "I can walking by myself," he said calmly, though a few seconds ago his eyes had been screwed shut as she'd torn him from the piano. He wasn't going to let her have the satisfaction of seeing him fear her--he met that sinister smile with another of his own-less sinister, but almost mocking.

She had no idea.

She didn't have to see him fear her. Rayne could smell it just fine, sharp and clear and oddly calm in it's own way, under the rotting scent of his limbs. It set her teeth on edge, and as she met his gaze, there was a bare hint of red tint showing through the green of her eyes. Arrogant little bastard. "It's amusing how you say that like I give a damn." She answered, grabbing his arm and twisting it away from her.

Grip tightening on the back of the neck, she pushed him forward, towards the way to the catacombs. "Walk." She snarled, ignoring a sense of foreboding that was curling in her stomach. She had become so used to the phantom presence that only she could see that not having it here, no matter how much easier it would make this, was unsettling. However, it was quickly squashed by a swell of bloodlust. There were much more important things for her to focus on.
