Sasori had awoken in the attic disoriented and clutching at the container which held his heart as if he expected it to fall out at any moment. But there was no hole--no sign of any even partial rupture, in fact, and his chakra system had returned to its normal tight control. What had happened? He looked around, tried to figure out how he had arrived here--his recollection faded out at about the time that bug had

Saya didn't notice Sasori at first, scooting a little closer to the corpse she had taken to and considering whether or not it was safe. Maybe so. They appeared to have died by disembowelment, after all. She blinked before raising her eyes sharply as she caught sight of Sasori, who seemed to have taken interest in one of the corpses. She only stared at him at first, wondering just what he was intending to do with it as much as whether or not the dogs would come to claim any of what looked as though they could have passed as residents. Somehow she was doubtful. They were more prompt than this and besides, all the bodies in this house just sat there during the day and became monsters during the night

Sasori was content to ignore her, until she spoke. Even then he took his own time, studying the skin of the corpse he had taken the most interest in for a bit longer before he tugged a scroll from beneath his cloak and spread it.
"Puppets," he said simply, opening the scroll and revealing several sharp, clean tools. He saw no reason to bother with taking the body away somewhere when all that remained would not suit his purposes anyway. He had chosen a fairly clean body, all told, but he would need to clean it anyway, and set about that task, removing and setting aside intestines that spilled out and wiping the blood away with a cloth--also from his toolkit--to see how damaged it was. Not bad. The back of the corpse would have too much pooled blood to really be of use, but it was certainly worth the effort. "Why are you here?"

Saya had no complaints with Sasori taking his time, watching with a mixture of interest and confusion as he pulled a scroll out, announcing that he intended to use the corpse for. "You must have really unique puppets," Saya offered with a smile. She'd never heard anything of like that, but she hardly objected to the idea. She was more curious than anything, wondering just what kind of puppets that he made that would require such a thing - they couldn't have been anything like those from her own world. As for why she was here... "I wanted to get a better look at the bodies~" That was true, at least. She had wanted to give them closer inspection, but aside from their being here it didn't seem as though there was anything out of the ordinary.
"They don't seem particularly unusual," Sasori said, "aside from being here with no monsters having dragged them off." As for his puppets... He smirked, just a little. "My puppets are the ultimate art. They will last forever."
He began to cut into the corpse, his hands moving delicately, surprisingly gently for one as callous as he. But this was work, was part of his art, and so his small hands showed their true dexterity as he began parting the flesh from the sinew and muscle it clung to. He didn't need that; the skin would cover his puppets, the muscle was too dead to be of use.
He managed to remain surprisingly clean, except for his arms, although there was a growing pile of mess beside him.
