Poland need a new flag as well. I was cheering Germany solely because of this fact. When the German flag looks better than yours you know you're in trouble.

That is a brilliant site. Though I am sad that the flag of the country of my birth is described as a corporate logo.

I loathe flags that would look like they belonged to another country if you turned them upside down/changed the proportions slightly. The Polish flag is incredibly boring.

While Donadoni may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, Domenech really is the one who should be shot. How a man can contrive to ruin so good a team is beyond me. Playing Abidal above Evra (not to mention, Clichy and Sagna not even in the squad!) and Toulalan over Nasri is rank tactical ineptitude. I hope France go out quickly so that Domenech is sacked!

At this rate I'm actually looking forward to France-Netherlands!

1. sagna is injured
2. i agree that evra and clichy are superior to abidal - who at one point this season asked rijkaard to be dropped from the barca team
3. you can't compare toulalan and nasri - the former is a holding guy while the latter is an attacking midfielder. on a related note, I can't fathom how toulalan and lasagna diarra got into the squad ahead of flamini.

and france is playing so boring i just hope they get out of the tourney asap.

1. Sagna would have recovered well in time for the start of the Championship. He's been consistently ignored by Domenech despite starring for Auxerre last season, and for Arsenal this season.

3. What I meant was that it seems strange to play both Makelele and Toulalan (two DMs) along with two non-attacking Full Backs. Nasri in the attacking CM role would have been a far better choice.

I haz link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netherlands_national_football_team

"Orange is the historic national colour of the Netherlands, originating from the coat of arms of the Dutch founding father William of Orange-Nassau. The top red band of the current flag was originally orange."

Butbutbut why did they change it to red in the first place? Silly Dutch.

Though knowing that it was orange makes me feel vindicated.

I wanted to answer Napoleon/the french but I wasn't sure exactly on the how and why so I consulted wikipedia, again:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_flag

which also led me to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dutch_flags and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Friesland

history, such a great time waster! tsch!

P.S. Holland won the 1988 EC! granted, it was 20 years ago, still.... pfhah.
