It wasn't that unusual for him to wake up on his own. Most nights, Sarah stayed or he stayed with her, but she was gone by morning or the dawn found him walking home. That morning, Adam woke up when his door slammed open.

"Jesus Christ, Cora. We've talked about decorum..."

He lifted his head, blinking blearily.

"Yeah, and what the fuck would you know about it?" she sneers, picking a twig from her hair with a frustrated huff and folding her sunshade to prop just inside the door.

Okay, that was a little odd. Adam sat up straight, sheets pooling around his bare waist. Yes, he was sometimes untidy, but the hut was actually immaculate today. He'd only just done laundry for him and Cora.

"Little bit unfair, Sarah."

She decides to ignore him, whether it's unfair or not, it seems trivial to argue about something so obvious.

"Hmm," she murmurs, looking distractedly at a broken nail -- Damn. "What, are you going to sleep all day?"
