If all things have gone right with the Nexus and Botan's ability to send things, Gaara should find a pink envelope on his desk. In her trademark bubble characters, the note (translated, of course) reads as follows:
To be honest, Gaara has never been one for social gatherings. Had the invitation been from someone else, he woudl have declined if he'd even botehred to reply at all. But this was Botan. And if she wanted him to come, he'd at least make an effort.
'Something nice' wasn't far from his usual clothes; black pants and red coat, though he did switch the mesh-shirt for a more normal shirt. He had observed a bit when they went to her world so he thought he had at least some idea on the style of dress. Besides, the coat offered a place to conceal one or two kunais and a bit of sand. The gourd would hardly go unnoticed after all, so that had to stay behind.
He wasn't exactly nervous or anxious when he stepped through the portal to meet Botan. But he couldn't quite shake the feeling that he shoudl approach this as some sort of mission.
Botan smiles when she sees Gaara. She walks up and gives him a hug. "I'm glad you decided to come." She's switched her regular clothes for a nice, casual skirt and blouse. The only thing much different is the two strands of hair framing her face are curled now. "You look very nice." She means it, too.
"I hope you don't mind climbing stairs. We can't get a portal directly to Genkai-san's temple because it's pretty heavily shielded."
"I'm afraid we'll have to keep to a set path to Genkai's. You'll see when we get there." She absentmindedly adjusts his collar.
"I'm not saying you should force yourself to be but it'd be a lot easier if you'd be at least cordial. They'll bug you, anyway. Koenma-sama will be there, too. I'd very much like for him to approve the man I'm with."
Botan walks hesitantly into the house. She's not really keen on dealing with a grumpy Koenma-sama.
As they enter the room, they hear a voice. "Yo." If Gaara was to look down, there would indeed be a toddler, pacifer and all. His hat is enblazed with the word "JR".
And down goes Gaara's eyes. Thank heavens that Botan has prepared him, otherwise he would probably have disregarded him completely. He had gotten teh bright idea to simply view Koenma as a short person, but the pacifier is making that rather hard. Good think he's so good at looking blank.
Hiei smirks. This'll be fun. He doesn't really have an option besides head on, because Gaara seems to
As the sand comes toward him, a black ring of fair surrounds them on the ground a. In his hand, a black and purple flameball forms, matching his now-crackling aura. This is not nearly his finishing move, but is an attack he's become somewhat famous for. "Fist of the Mortal Flame!'
Do you know what happens to sand when it is exposed to intense heat? It melts and becomes glass. Gaara can't control glass, but it still has enough momentum to continue forward.
Gaara doesn't know if it will hit or not as it is now. New walls of sand rises around him, forming a cocoon to shield him from teh glass that is sure to drop right where he's standing.
Hiei easily punches through the glass, only cutting up a bit of his hand. After examining it, he sighs. "I see you have an excellent defense. I would get you right out of their, but I don't think she'd like it very much if I killed you.
He shrugs. Back to business, then. The Jagan is searching for any weak points.
There is only silence from the cocoon. Nothing moves at all. And there, toward the top, there's a weaker point that might be suitable for attacking. Only if Hiei comes close enough, he'll find that the cocoon will sprout long spikes and do so very quickly.
"That's certainly an option. What would you like to do?" He must be on the same wavelength as the people on the other side of the fourth wall that's wondering that.

A toddler who can make an ogre cry? Gaara doesn't know what to think about all this.

"I know what I'll do! Start my own business! That's an admirable goal, right?" But what kind of business, Captain Ahab?
