i like crossovers

Jul 29, 2008 10:05

So, I just finished a story that has been plaguing me for weeks (no, seriously, plaguing), and I need to clear my head a bit so I can edit it.

Therefore, give me a crossover prompt (fandoms or characters, whichever) and I'll try to write a ficlet based on it.

No guarantees on quality/completion, but I will try.

No slash, as they wouldn't cooperate, but there is snark! And a House cameo ( ... )

And they all lived happily ever after.

Another gem. Rodney being a hypochondriac but accurate! Wilson worried not about his own exhaustion but about House making him do something he won't be aware of until it's too late! Carson swooping in with unlikely retroviruses!

It's impressive how you cook up these AUs and crossovers and fusions with so little need for exposition in the beginning.

Thanks again! I think everything on Atlantis is eventually solved by unlikely retroviruses and/or explosions.

And I find exposition really tedious to write, so I tend to skip over as much of it as I possibly can. It's a bit strange, because for these two, especially, it felt like I had to do a lot of set up to get everyone where they needed to be.

ZOMG awesome. Wilson so weary with Rodney. Rodney being right. Carson saving the day. House hanging around throwing bon mots in (Hey! Involved in the same way HL said he originally thought the character would be!). The werewolf!

And this line is just so genius in its build-up:

the first four people in line for the job before him had been killed off by (a) Wraith, (b) humans, (c) Wraith-human hybrids, and (d) giant spiders.

A+!

Heee, thanks! I feel like Stargate has enough life-sucking vampires, but none of their natural enemy, gigantic evil werewolves.

And I feel like House should spend more time sitting around being snarky and less time angsting over his leg. Yes.

OMG PERFECT. I especially like how Rodney was right, after all, but I LOVED Wilson shutting the door in his face. Heh.

Rodney's hypochondria pays off occasionally! He keeps detailed records so he can quote them whenever anyone makes fun of him for it!
