Only use Limewire for one or two songs every gazillion days? There's the rather cute Cabos, which works for both Windows and Macs. No Linux, weirdly enough, considering that it's written in Java.

Boring screensavers getting you down? Really Slick Screensavers are, in fact, as slick as advertised. They're incredibly beautiful, though I would watch ( Read more... )

If you're on OS X, you should check out Acquisition, which is a Cocoa application (so it will feel 100% like a Mac app). I actually paid the registration fee, because it's just that good. Cabos is something of a ripoff of Acquisition, and it doesn't look as nice.

I personally prefer OurTunes or Bittorrent. I would only use gnutella in case of extreme emergencies.

Don't know, but there are enough people who share on iTunes to make OurTunes worth it.
