Egads, has it really been that long since I've posted? Things have been... busy. Nothing worth going into detail about, but at least I've finally carved out a moment to make some progress on this fic, now with title!

Yay!!!

I'm glad to see you're doing something with Carlos - I always thought it was a shame that S7 introduced so many new characters, only to ignore them or kill them off almost immediately.

I felt totally the same way. I'd originally been really excited about Dawn getting her own posse with Carlos and Kit. So I guess I'm trying to recapture that early promise from the season.

The overall effect was sort of Haight-Ashbury hippie meets Mr. T.

Hee! Mostly this chapter is two-way conversations, and they are all nifty. I'm glad that Carlos is being given a bit more importance in this. You know my feelings on the lack of Hispanic residents in the 'Dale. Anyway, he's sounds like a halfway decent teen boy, in that he's only halfway decent. Great job!

P.S. Do you have an AO3 identity? I'm helping Herself get her stuff up over there, and so much of it is dedicated to you that I wanted to tag you, if I could. Just a thought...

Hee! I hadn't actually realized this was an all-conversation chapter until this morning -- I've been trying to get this one off the ground for months, and I've moved the order of events around a lot, so all the talking just ended up being front-loaded. But, yeah -- Carlos is a pretty normal dude. He can't be too good, or the conversations wouldn't be half as fun. : )

I have a log-in on AO3, but I don't think I've ever posted anything there. Aside from picking at this one story, I haven't been terribly active in the fandom lately. But I probably will if I decide to close up my website, where the older fics are archived.

Oh wow, I love this story and am so glad for the update, But I am going to need to reread this.
