New-fic-with-no-name, second part

I'm still behind on comments - sorry, folks! - but at least here's the next part of the new fic. Eventually I'll come up with a title, and figure out how to cross-post to Dreamwidth, stuff like that. For disclaimers, etc. see Part 1.

Eek!

Dawn didn't run into Spike in the bathroom in the show, did she? Or did she? I can't remember. Anyway their encounter here is perfectly freaky. Awesome.

Hee! Halloween's coming soon, so I'm feeling very horror. Glad you liked!

Dawn didn't run into Spike in the bathroom in the show, did she? Or did she?

She didn't - there was a scene in the bathroom with Buffy being confronted by zombie-ghosts, but Dawn and Spike don't see each other until the next episode. Buffy finds Spike in the basement instead, and then fails to mention it to anybody.

In my own mental movie, I felt it made more sense to have Dawn see him first. Then, having seen the state he's in, we can also anticipate Buffy's reaction.

Eeep!

Loving this muchly. Dawn is very believable here; the details are right. And it would have been too warm for that sweater on the first day of school. But that staking scene... Gah! Way to up the creepy factor!

I love Buffy trying to be a rebel at her dead-end burger job by smoking. Hee!

Thanks! IMHO, the new high school needed more scare, and Spike was right there, and since his status hadn't been established yet, and there was opportunity for a good Spike & Dawn scene... boo!

I couldn't resist making fun of the sweater. It used to baffle me the way the characters would show up in winter clothes, like everyone had forgotten that Sunnydale was supposed to be in So-Cal.

And the smoking thing... well, let's just say I've worked fast food, so the atmosphere is well known to me. If Buffy had kept that job for months, I think she would've gotten more comfortable with little realities of working life, like needing smoke breaks, and less with the crude symbolism of smoking=evil that the show seemed to be rolling out at times. So yeah, she's rebelling in her own small way. : )
