Doing his covert secret-mission Champion thing. Which she wasn't allowed to come along for, because of something to do with image. Either his or hers, she wasn't so sure, but she suspected his. love that, can just see the expression on her face to accompany that thought.

Very neat parallel, Buffy not trusting Willow, nor Dawn, Spike.

Oh, I'm so glad you've come back to this, I am enjoying it.

So frustrating to see how these two always manage to talk past each other. And Buffy's insecurity about SPike, and his nightly abandonment of her … so intriguing. I love how you write the two of them, but you always make them madly frustrating!

I do write them frustrating, I know - that's their charm to me, for some reason, the difficulty of communication. But I'm glad you're still liking it, even so!

Which... kinda sucked, actually, because she excelled at dire. That was what she was really good at: apocalypses, catacylsyms, and disasters. There was a certain reassuring familiarity to facing down a horrible looming doom

I enjoy your panicked Buffy a great deal (and Dawn's undercurrent of distrust for Spike hurts -- in a good angsty way -- but it still stings. :)

Thanks! It was tough to write too - Dawn's unease with Spike has been a small undercurrent since two stories back, but I still haven't quite confronted it directly.
