BEFORE I FALL by Lauren Oliver
I picked up this book randomly at the library because I thought it looked good and it has easily become one of my favorite books I've read this year and quite possibly ever. The premise could seem unoriginal -- a girl gets a chance to relive her last day on Earth over and over -- but it was done in such a way that was very haunting and heartbreaking. It really makes you realize the impact your actions, even the smallest ones, can have on the world.
THE WOLVES OF MERCY FALLS by Maggie Stiefvater
I realize that the whole teen paranormal romance genre is really big right now, but if that's something you're into I'd definitely recommend reading these amazing books. I've become rather obsessed with them; and without giving anything away I just want to say that I can't wait for the third book in the trilogy, Forever, which is coming out next year! \o/
PETER BRADLEY ADAMS
The first time I heard him was when one of his songs played on one of my Pandora stations. Since that day I was hooked. I checked out his 3 CDs from the library and I literally listened to them all the time. I bought them shortly after and they've been in my car since then. There's just something about his songs and voice and ..everything really. Is it weird to say I feel very contemplative when I listen to his music? Because I do and I love it. It makes me happy. Some of my favorite songs: The Longer I Run, Family Name, Darkening Sky, and Lay Your Head Down.
BRENDAN JAMES
So I've liked Brendan James for a couple of years now. In fact my graphics journal which you're visiting right now is named after his first CD and is part of one of my favorite songs. But I didn't really become obsessed with him until this year. I had the opportunity to see him live for the very first time this fall and it was an amazing experience. I saw him at this little intimate place where we were sitting literally 5 feet away from him. He really is something else when you see him live. His voice is just so beautiful and his songs are really moving. And he's just as nice as I imagined he would be! A few of my favoite songs: Begin, All I Can See, Your Beating Heart, and I absolutely loved his cover of I Will Follow You Into the Dark.
LEVERAGE
OMG you guys, this show = ♥. A bunch of people on my flist were always talking about how amazing it was but I never gave it much thought. Lucky for me one of my friends provided me with the opportunity to watch the first season and since then I have been obsessed. The cast is amazing, (Christian Kane is hot!) the story is great, and even better, my mom actually watches this with me! It's really hard to get her to watch any of the shows I like so I was even more excited when I realized she enjoyed this show almost as much as I do. xD
LEGEND OF THE SEEKER
Again, something I don't know why it took me so long to watch. I actually just started the first season about 2 months ago but ever since then it has become a minor major obsession of mine. UNFORTUNATELY I still haven't finished the second season yet, but I just love it so much I really don't want it to end! What is better than beautiful people kicking ass? In my book, not much.
