Anders blinks, looking up from his paperwork to see Merrill standing at the front of the clinic, by herself. That was a bit of a surprise.

"Merrill? Is that you? Is everything okay?"

"Oh, yes, yes--everything's fine," Merrill says quickly. She has her hands hidden awkwardly behind her back. "I, um, I just wanted to bring you something..."

Anders raises an eyebrow, but nods and gets up. This is very unlike Merrill...

"Hawke said it's traditional to give gifts on Feast Day..." She brings her hands around and presents Anders with a small lidless box. Inside are three kittens, all different colors. "I couldn't remember which kind you said you wanted."
