The truth is, after weeks of being on the run, Anders finally began having those second thoughts about leaving. But the thought of facing Nate again scared him shitless which is why he'd been putting off returning to the Keep for another two weeks-- until of course, someone else did the job of returning him to the Wardens by force. He was first caught by a templar and then when questioned, he revealed he was a Warden. The man didn't buy it. And now Anders was being paraded towards Vigil's Keep, hands bound, watching the stone walls slowly come into view ( ... )

When the squire rushes in and exclaims that Anders is here, caught by Templars, Nathaniel's heart stops. Without really even thinking about it he jumps out of his chair and hurries down to the main hall.

Rage fills him as he sees how Anders is bound. "Get those rope off him!" he barks. "He's a Grey Warden." The Templars don't even question him, such is Nathaniel's reputation now.

Once he's set free, Anders rubs at the sore, bruised marks on his wrists. He'd been bound for a few days after all. He can't look at Nathaniel in the eye but he manages to shoot the blighted Templars a few glares before they leave.

"So, what do we do with him?" Garavel asks Nathaniel, eyeing Anders carefully. "He's a deserter. I'm sure Grey Wardens don't tolerate that."

Nathaniel stares at Anders with a cold detachment. Finally he speaks. "The Grey Wardens take everyone, even deserters."

When Garavel opens his mouth to protest Nathaniel shoots him a hard look, one that his men have grown accustomed to seeing over the last few weeks. Garavel nods his head and makes a hasty retreat, leaving only Anders and Nathaniel in the hall.
