Nathaniel takes a deep breath before walking into the clinic. He'd been wracked with guilt over what had happened to his lover, blaming himself for the incident. He could only hope that Anders would forgive him.

He enters quietly and walks over to where Anders is lying; he drags a chair close to the cot and sits down in it.

[andersawake]

Anders doesn't make any movement to acknowledge Nate's entering the room but he knows that he's there. They spend a few moments in silence before Anders finally decides to speak.

"Come to admire the damage, huh?" he chuckles weakly, the sarcasm thick in his voice.

Nathaniel looks at him, anguished. "I came to make sure you're alright."

[andersawake]

"Do I look alright to you?" Anders snaps, twisting his head to glare at Nate.

Hawke leaned in the doorway, one arm stretched over and resting on top of her head, wondering how to approach. Finally she cleared her throat and walked over to sit on the side of his bed, reaching for his hand. She couldn't think what to say, she just wanted to let him know she was still there.

mmhmm mmhmm mmhmm *cackles*

"Hawke," Anders grunts, leaving his hand limp within her grasp. He didn't want her to see him like this. Why did she have to come?

Hawke ignores his lackluster greeting; she knows that it's because he feels helpless and hates it.

Instead she lies herself down next to him, stretching alongside and resting her head and one hand on his chest. He can react or not, as he wants, but she's not going anywhere.

Anders is comforted by her presence but he can't seem to find it in himself to move. "I'm useless, love. Completely useless now."

[ella_hawke]

Ella might not like this Anders... okay, fine, she hates this Anders... but she can set that aside for something like this. She walks into the clinic and frowns, pacing, knowing full well that this is beyond her healing capabilities.

"I know there's nothing I can do. But I wish I could."

She frowns again, fidgeting her fingers, obviously uncomfortable with the lack of options. "Duls? There's nothing she can do either?" She knows the answer to that question before its given.

"And there's nothing we can do combined, all of us healers? Combining our power, our healing, splitting the tasks among us in a team?" No, she knows that won't work either.

So she just sits down, looking defeated. She doesn't like taking no for an answer.

[andersawake]

"Why can't people just accept the fact that I'm just going to end up this way for good?" Anders rolls his eyes with a scowl. "I'm just going to rot away in this bed, if you don't mind."

[ella_hawke]

"I do mind..." she responds in a low voice, not really sure of how to answer. Her mind is still racing with ideas, and then she mentally shoots each one down.

"Are you in pain? Is there anything I can get you?" She decides to go for the practical questions that have tangible answers first.

[andersawake]

"I'm fine," Anders snaps. "I'm numb actually so there's no need for much else."

OH that. That is cruel.

Bianca waits outside the clinic for a minute or two. She doesn't really know what to say, or do...she can't fix this. If Anders couldn't fix it...

She sighs. But he was alive. And she'd be damned if she let him wallow in self pity for the rest of his life.

So, she takes a deep breath, walking into the clinic and sitting down on the floor next to his cot.

*bows*

[andersawake]

Anders notices her slip in. He nods her direction.

"Bianca."

Girl, you evil. :D Did you hear me and Nate's idea, by the way?

[snarky_tabris]

"Hey, Anders."

She gives him a small nod, before going to pull up a chair to sit next to him. She fishes into her bag and brings out a biscuit and a pear.

"Here. I...know it's not much, but you look like you could use a snack right now."

Anders blinks, looking at the food. He's never said no to food before. He nods slowly, unsmiling. "Thanks."

[wolfenris]

*Fenris is lurking in the shadows, prowling back and forth*

*There must be something he can do. He will not allow this...*

[andersawake]

I know you're there Fen. [Anders just lays there, the roles suddenly switched. He's actually brooding.]

[wolfenris]

I have not been subtle in my presence...

*Fenris prowls closer though, a frown on his face*

There must be a way to fix this.

[andersawake]

[scowls] There isn't a way to fix this, Fen. This is it for me.
