It was a chilly September day. The dawn's frost was still melting its way off the grass. Dumbledore stood on a small podium at the head of a crowd of students, staff, visitors and paparazzi. The latter troubled him somewhat, but to attempt to isolate the school at this time would be political suicide.
"Neville was a boy of hidden talents," he continued, speaking softly, but the Sonorus charm carried his voice to the back of the crowd. "But his greatest gift was that of love and friendship. Had he lived, he would no doubt have become a greater friend to many of us than we might ever have. He leaves behind many who will miss him."
The speech was soon over.
