I'm literally having a hard time concentrating on my nutrition case study because it grosses me out so very much.

Here's the set-up:

Vitamins A, D, and K are fat-soluble and A in particular can cause blindness, organ failure and slippage of the skin (as an Arctic explorer found out when he butchered his dogs for food and ate their livers). Yeah... toxicology is a pet hobby of mine.

Hmm... raw eggs do have the risk of salmonella but I'd be more concerned about the yolks, which are almost pure cholesterol, I believe (it would have to be high fat/energy, obviously, being nutrients to a developing embryo).

But I'm sure you'll be developing a masterful, cutting rebuttal to this that'll rip it to shreds. :3

raw eggs are very common for athletes, disgusting yes but most will eat the pasteurized variety so there's no risk of icky buggies.

Personally, I'd just boil the damn things but hey.
