Wow. That's such a wonderful story. Terribly bittersweet but lovingly philosophical as well. I'm surprised that you say that "you can tolerate almost anyone" in the winter, though - I've always felt that I grow generally more irritable with all of those around me then, especially on the bitterest days.

I'm listening to that John Mayer song now (have never heard it before) and it is quite lovely.
