I spent a lot of this movie afraid that it was going to turn into some sentimental feel-good Disney claptrap, but it kept its satirical edge right through. A nice light movie for cynics.

Oh yeah both those movies are great! However, I did get told about Hard Candy before I saw it, mainly because I heard the words "REALLY FUCKING GROSS/SCARY" and wanted to know what I was getting into. That girl is my age (or younger) and pulled that off amazingly! Made up for me hating her as homewrecker Kitty Pryde in X-Men 3.

I hope this is is NZ at some point, but El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's Labryinth) is really really REALLY amazing. We had a discussion in Spanish class about how every movie from Spain is gut-wrenching and usually about the Franco era and this is no exception. But it is also about a girl who's on a quest! The Faun in this was so neato and I loved him. "Soy de....FAUNO. *creak groan*" XD

I want to say more about it, but I don't want to give anything away.
