Dari had grown quite hungry as the day progressed, but the food in the HW was horrid and she'd begged Jer to go and get her something edible. He'd grumbled about leaving her of course, but she'd promised to properly thank him for it later and he'd finally agreed.
She grimaced a little as she saw him bump into Darin, though the angle was all wrong for her to catch his glare. There were definitely some muttered obscenities as Jeremy brushed by the Hufflepuff though and Dari groaned to herself.
And she wondered what Darin was doing here anyways as she smiled a bit awkwardly and gave him a small wave. She hadn't seen him since Lucas had hurt him before hols and she wasn't sure how to act just now.
Darin gave the other bloke an odd look. Okay then. Shaking his head, he continued on to Dari's cot. "Hey, you look healthy to me," he teased brightly. "Scamming Russiani out of some good potions or something are you?" He sat on the edge of the bed casually and smiled.
Dari's smile grew a little easier as he teased her. At least he was acting normal and not like he was mad or anything, even though she felt he should be mad. Maybe he was just being nice because she was stuck in here.
"I feel perfectly fine, too," she pouted, "but you know Russiani..." There was really no need for her to finish that statement, she felt, so she let it trail off.
"How've you been?" she asked, again with the awkward. She really hated this whole small talk thing, especially now when she felt so bloody weird around him.
Darin arched and eyebrow. He did, indeed, know how Russiani could be. You'd think every little thing had you knocking on death's door the way that woman went on.
"I've been good. Avoiding falling down stairs, I can tell you that," he jabbed. It wasn't really something to joke about but Darin wasn't sure how to be serious around Dari. Playful came naturally and she did look alright. Better not to concentrate on what might have been because that would take the fun out of things.
"What had him in such a bad mood?" Darin asked, pointing back toward the door Jeremy had recently exited.
