Though admittedly I've never played the game =_= but I like Yuri's character design alot (reason why i watched the Tales of the Abyss anime too because Luke was too man pretty)
Sherlock Holmes~ I'm super excited to go see it!! 8DDD Oh gawd the thought of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law -IN ONE MOVIE- not to mention the bromance Holmes and Watson has going on it's just so &hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts&hearts

A movie, actually! Apparently it takes place before the game, but a lot of the main cast make appearances. :)
Oh, Yuri is awesome in more ways than one. Awesome design, awesome voice actor (Troy Baker~~~), awesome attitude. I also liked how Vesperia wasn't a sort of bildungsroman like most other Tales games. Not that I don't like the good ol' "hero's journey" type, but I loved how Yuri was already a well-developed and mature character at the start of the game. /spiel
Luke was kind of a pretty boy, I'll give ya that. |D

It looks like it'll be an awesome movie. And because I don't know anything really about the source material, I can go in with little to no expectations. My dad keeps griping, "Holmes was nothing like this!" but he still wants to see it. ;D

First of all OH GAWD I LOVE YOUR ICON !!!!
:O Will it be available to watch in the states anytime soon? Haha more time for awesomeness I suppose then?

But that's the point~! It's all..modernized this time so audiences will be able to relate to it more =w= I haven't read much of Holmes either (since it's basically the pull of Jude Law and Robert D. Jr.)

then you will like this icon too :D thecapturedspy December 24 2009, 04:00:28 UTC
Well, I'm not sure how long it takes to sub these things. It might be a long movie. :( (The Eden of the East movie #1 came out in October, and I haven't heard anything new about it...)

Yeah! Especially since the old Holmes show they would put on PBS was incredibly boring. Nothing against the British, but that version...no one did ANYTHING, ever. :\

Oh, now I want to see The Princess and the Frog even more!! And I have to agree about loving the old style Disney 2D films, computer animation is way too overdone now. :P

Sherlock Holmes looks like it might be good too, and I'd kinda like to see it but I'm afraid it'll have too many action/blowing stuff up scenes. D:

Good luck applying at Walgreen's~ :D

Yep...although I'm biased towards 2D because I've actually done a little bit of traditional animation myself, so I know how much work it takes to get even a 10-second sequence. And I always have the highest respect for animators in that field because of it. Not that I don't respect 3D animators, it's just like you said...CGI is extremely common these days.

There did appear to be a lot of explosions in the trailer...hopefully they actually have something to do with the storyline? xD

Thank you! My dad said he used to work late shifts at Walgreen's during Christmas Break, and they supposedly pay a lot more for it, and since I'm more of a night owl anyway I figured it was worth a shot.

You've done some animation yourself? Wow, that sounds interesting...I have heard how much work it is traditionally, it sounds kinda crazy. O_O

Well, even though the trailer was so STUFF BLOWING UP YAY it's Sherlock Holmes after all there HAS to be a heavier focus on story. XD I do love the look of the interaction between Holmes/Watson in the trailer though~ ♥

Yup, I spent a week last summer at an art school (the same one I attend now, ironically) getting to know some basic animation. We did the most basic of 2D, the good old flip-book style. It takes a LOT of paper, and a lot of patience. @_@

I LOVED The Princess and the Frog too! Tiana and Naveen were totally cute, but I don't know if I would say Naveen was my favorite prince. I liked Aladdin a lot too.

I would say Aladdin is my favorite too, except that he was the main character. ;D I'm thinking about those other Disney princes like Charming, Philip, Eric--they were kind of flat characters.

Oh, yeah, out of the princes who aren't really around until the end, Naveen wins hands-down.
