I am but a n00b still to SPN ways, so I cannot claim to grok all the nuances or backstory.

That being said, here is my weetiny speculation for next week's ep. No spoilers, except for last night's ep.

I think you may be right. Although it makes me angst even harder for poor Andy. I loved him! With bigger concerns, I don't imagine the Winchesters will worry overly much about saving the guy (if the 'being able to bring people back from Hell' scenario occurs) but if I had my way they'd do it! :p

funny. My son and I discussed the army thing at great length this morning with pretty much the same theory you have here.

Somebody else was sad about Andy. I have to say I was very grumpy about Ash and am hoping the whole thing is some sort of training dream sequence.

I was frustrated that they telegraphed Sam's death in every ad leading up to the episode. Makes me hope there's something up the sleeve about it.
