I could almost be tempted to do an informal poll of "What's your favorite most dumb-ass moment on either Buffy or Angel?" Though I suppose it would be hard for me to find a bullet-point way to list how, in Fredless, all of the characters turn so retarded that none of them know what a zip code is.

Aww, sorry about the sick thing :(

I recall I had enjoyed The Gift... would you mind telling me what was bad continuity and stuff? I barely followed Buffy so that's why I didn't catch any of it I suppose.

And seriously, we got nothing like Angel on tv right now :( I mean, what show could sell an episode like Smile Time and *make it work*? Aww.

Oh man, where do you even begin? Okay, just grabbing some off the top of my head:

"Use Olaf the troll-god's hammer" except Olaf wasn't a god, he was just a troll. Moreover Xander got hit with the hammer by Olaf and suffered only some mild bruising. So not so much with a formidable weapon against a god there ;)

"The monks made her out of me" Since when?

"The blood flows, the portal opens, the blood stops, the portal closes" Except Dawn's still bleeding at the end of the episode, and Buffy's death was surprisingly bloodless both when she died in the portal itself, and even when her body crashed down to earth to be displayed against rubble in an attractive manner. Heck, her hair wasn't even mussed ;)

"The diagon sphere will stop her" Granted this one is more retroactive bad continuity then a mistake in the ep itself, but if Buffy and the gang wanted to keep Glory away from Dawn and knew since getting the sphere that it repelled Glory, why wasn't the sphere duct taped to Dawn's back the entire time ( ... )

Wow, I had no idea about it all :D I just bought it since I knew nothing of this. So it was the first time we heard of the key being made out of Buffy? Wow, wtf big deux ex machina. Did they rush it because they thought it would be the serie finale?

I don't think so, because at the time Joss knew Buffy was going to UPN and therefore had at least one more season to play with. My personal suspicion is that this is what happens when Joss divides his attention over multiple projects and shows and then has to come back at the very end to try to tidy up mistakes that were made because somebody else was in charge of the storyline.

Sweetie, go to bed; an early night won't hurt.

Why'd Joss make my Giles so dumb, there at the end? Broke my heart, the bastard.

I shall soon enough. Just catching up on a few things first. And the plus side is that I can sleep in tomorrow too =) (Don't have to be at work until 1)

Though I do think it was dumbass, I can buy that you could torture a vampire by plunging him underwater, on the principle that just because they don't have to breathe, that doesn't mean having lungs full of water is fun. You could still feel like you're drowning.

I think on that score though, Spike knocking Dru out by choking her in Becoming wins for dumbass. At least with the torture, it could be psychological torment; you have to stretch Dru's psychosis pretty far to get to "She went unconscious because she thought she should."

See for me I would've bought it in any season except the one airing the same time as Angel returning from his trip to Little Mermaidville. Because if nothing else it would've fallen under ye olde "canon is whatever we said last" but also because it wouldn't have been so immediate that I would've been more willing to fill in a blank on why it was so unpleasant for Spike to go through.

But with the Angel thing not only having just happened but being a HUGE plot point... I can't do it. It's just too stupid, even for them.

But, again, it's our stupid, damn it.

My favorite piece of plot absurdity is how we always saw Spike's blanket smoke during his quick dashes, but his midday mile stroll through the middle of the desert in "Spiral"? Nothing.

Hee! You know, I think I'm going to do a post just so we can collect these. If you can't have good natured fun with the shows that you love, who can you have it with? I ask you.
