In other news: I'm almost out of the beer I brought back with me from Quebec. I decided tonight that when it runs out, no more beer for me for a long while as I am going to test my willpower with another weight-loss diet. Wish me luck.

I read the whole thing and it sounds very sad and quite plausible given some of the news that's been coming out of NOLA lately, but something about the absolute nastyness of the authorities doesn't ring true.
