What I expected, I guess

So last night Cynra & I took in John Cleese's Last Chance to See Me Before I Die tour.

It was not bad. He started off with a confession that the purpose of the tour was to pay his most recent bout of alimony.

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy it. My friend Helen also went last night so it will be interesting to see what she thought of it. Mind you she was born and raised in England so she may have a slight bias. :D

Alimony? Well, that explains the infomercial he did a few years back. (Very embarassing one; I wanted to believe it was a joke that Kaufman would pull, until it ended.)

Hmmm I really don't respect performers who make part of their act about belittling the people who paid to see them. Even on a last tour - that's like saying "gee thanks for my entire career suckers, I have zero respect for any of you." It ensures that those people won't see my money again.
