Although it's lost some of its gloss over the years, TUS made a huge impact on me when I saw it in college. And I still love the flashback structure of the film and the performances.
Die Hard I had on a tape my cousin made me, and I would watch it regularly when I was in high school. I think there were weeks when I'd watch it every day. It appealed to me.
The second question? I can't answer it. I've watched dozens of movies several times, but don't have precise enough memories to say that any one is ahead of any other.
However Star Wars movies (original three), Coen Brothers movies, and a number of classic black and whites are at the forefront.
Wait a minute! I've watched A Christmas Carol every Christmas since I was a young teen. That's over thirty times! By that alone it declares itself the winner.
Oh great, thus far I am the most obsessive among nerds. ;) What can I say? I watched Princess Bride once per day for over a year, and have watched it dozens of times since. Hell, I watched it three times in a row the very first night I ever watched it, when I was eight...
I watched the Zefirelli version of Romeo and Juliet almost every night for the year after the Princess Bridge binge, so it's up in the hundreds too.
Most watched? Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - This number was substantially boosted by my use of it in teaching The Heroe's Journey for upper level highschool English classes.
I also enjoy Serenity quite a bit (film so nice I bought it twice). I think I've seen it a bunch of times at the annual CSTS screenings, but it's not quite at the top of either list.
